Comments about Superfeet Green Premium Insoles - High Volume:
I am a Marine Infantryman and these insoles hold up to rigorous abuse. Through 2 deployments and numerous hikes in the Desert and Jungles, knock on wood I have had no foot problems. They totally cured the shin splints I used to have. Through extremely long days of grueling work there is no other insole I would trust on my feet. I wear green or orange depending on which combat boot I wear and the blue for my running shoes and golf shoes. I will never go back. Absolutely worth every penny.

Comments about Superfeet Green Premium Insoles - High Volume:
Bought them for backpacking. I've used them for backcountry/telemark skiing for years as well as wearing daily. I've had great success with them for years skiing. I've also had great success wearing them in my "every day" shoes. I just began using them for backpacking since the (very comfortable) original insoles wore out. I put them in a pair of well broke in Asolo backpacking boots and took off on a two day, 30 mile trip. The balls of my feet hurt badly by the end of the first day. By the end of the second day, the pain was almost unbearable. I'm guessing the difference between skiing and backpacking is that the snow absorbs some of the impact. I also carry a much heavier load when backpacking. They do, however provide very good heel support. Ankle and knee fatigue is noticeably reduced using these. I will continue to use them for every day use and for skiing. I think I'll try some of the Spenco Backpackers since they have some padding up front. Great product, now I have a backup pair...

Comments about Superfeet Green Premium Insoles - High Volume:
I have had a pair of superfeet in every shoe i could get them into for the last 7 years, greens in my hikers and runners, blues and dress-fits in my low volume shoes and flats. Any negative review you read here is most likely due to improper "break-in" or mis-sizing. Just like a boot Superfeet (and your feet) need to be broken in a few hours at a time. Your foot is not used to being in the proper supported postion for hours on end and it can be uncomfortable at first, but stick with it SUPERFEET ROCK!

Comments about Superfeet Green Premium Insoles - High Volume:
Wore these in Asolo mid-weight hiking boots for trek of Cotswold Way in summer, about 15 mi/day for 10 days. I weigh 185, pack added 20. While the support, esp for arch, is stellar, the constant pounding on what is actually nothing more than a plastic plate with a fabric skin became excruciating. Adding 3/4 length cush insoles helped but overfilled the boots. Beware if you are on the heavy side. Also can be painful if arch support is not PRECISELY where yours is. This came to feel like being barefoot on rocks.

Comments about Superfeet Green Premium Insoles - High Volume:
I purchased a set of these Superfeet Green Premium Insoles while at TBS in Quantico, VA after my boots chewed up my feet on a force march humping with a 68 pound pack for 6 miles. I ended up with ripped open blisters all over the bottom of my feet, on and in between my toes. This resulted in not being able to walk well for a week causing problems with training. After replacing the insoles of my boots with the Superfeet Green Premium Insoles and wearing wicking hiking socks, I went on a 9 mile hump four weeks later with a 72 pound pack and didn’t have any blister at all on my feet. I still have that same set of insoles in my boots I am wearing while in Iraq, but they are going to have to be replaced when I get back. Great product; highly recommended, especially if you are going to be on force marches.

Comments about Superfeet Green Premium Insoles - High Volume:
For years I had trouble with pronation. I have high arches and I pronate - a difficult combination. Finally I found these superfeet and put them inside my stability shoes. Since then (5 years ago) I have been able to run 2 marathons and am training for a 3rd. I have not had IT band issues at all since switching to these insoles. I have even tried custom orthotics, but I found these still work better. If you have have trouble with IT band - try these. They are awesome!

Comments about Superfeet Green Premium Insoles - High Volume:
I used the green SuperFeet insoles for about 7 years of off-trail working, day hiking, and backpacking. I immediately noticed they put a nice spring in my step, made forward motion easier, and improved the fit of my boots - BUT: they were rock hard from day one. My feet ache badly at day's end, especially under the ball of the foot. If only SuperFeet made a cushioned version, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. For now I'll have to look to another manufacturer. (I have tried adding a cushioned insole but the SuperFeet need to be used solo.)

Comments about Superfeet Green Premium Insoles - High Volume:
I've used these for years in my day-to-day wear (athletic shoes etc, and that being when I'm not in Birks), in my Asolo all-leather hiking boots, in Sorels, in work boots (yard/remodel work, etc),and on occasion in other types of footwear (notably ski boots, but I can't ski anymore because of worn-out knees.)
I have had great success with them and love them. I started out with them in my day-to-day shoes and had such success that I slowly (and as needed) started adding them to all my commonly-used footwear (hiking boots, sorels, workboots, etc.)
I have not experienced the induced foot pain others comment about. I suspect the problem with that might be that Superfeet greens are stiff, and if the "break" (to use the footwear/boot term for it) of the Superfeet is significantly behind or in front of the "break" of ones' feet, that could easily cause problems because of the aforementioned stiffness.
More generally, much of how well any orthotic (custom or not) will work is dependent on how they fit and whether or not the amount of arch support/volume, stiffness (of the footbed), location of the break, etc are all appropriate for ones' feet.
Being an OTC product those variables are fixed, and so fit and appropriateness are a bit of a hit-or-miss proposition and again that could explain at least some of the negative results others have had.
My feet are not that sensitive to induced pain of that sort, it's just that (like my knees) my feet have a lot of years and miles on them and are more comfortable, and stay comfortable longer, with the added support.
I'm not taking others to task, just presenting my experiences and some alternative points of view.

Comments about Superfeet Green Premium Insoles - High Volume:
The sales guy highly recommended them, Superfeet heavily advertise in the outdoors type magazines. The price is high too, but I justified it due to 15 to 20 miles per day hikes. My boots were broken in, but the superfeet felt good at the store, but really hurt my feet on the trail. For this price, I bought a new pair of boots [...] instead and will never use SuperFeet again.

Comments about Superfeet Green Premium Insoles - High Volume:
I was recommended a pair of superfeet by a friend on a long backpacking trip. As soon as i got home i purchased a pair. My next trip out was unbelievable. My feet were never sore after a full day of hiking. After breaking them in a little bit, they formed to my feet perfectly. The arch support is really strong. I can now hike farther and faster due to less stress on my feet.
