Comments about Planet Bike HC Freddy Fender Set - 60mm:
I've had these on a mountain bike with studded tires I used for winter commuting in snow and I thought they were great, plenty of clearance over the tires and did their job. Also, as to the durability - I had freddy fenders on a commuting road bike and had a crash such that the front fender rode back under itself. I took off the wheel, straightened the struts and the fender, and went off. The durability of this material/product is exceptional.

Comments about Planet Bike HC Freddy Fender Set - 60mm:
I have these fenders on my rigid frame mountain bike and they are great, I have had them for about a year. I use this bike for commuting and for mountain biking.
They are not too easy to install. I mean, you have to fiddle with the adjustment nuts so that they don't rub on the tires. It probably takes about an hour to install and get it right. It is worth it, however, because once installed properly, they are reliable. Note that I also have a rack on the back of my bike and they coexist with the rack quite nicely. I used extra-long screws down by the axle to go through both eyelets of the fenders as well as my rack supports.
The front fender does rattle sometimes when I hit big bumps, jump off curbs, and other such things, but it has never snagged on the tire or caused an unsafe situation. The rattling is not a big deal, because really, what do you expect if you are jumping in the air or going over rough trails at high speeds.
One thing to keep in mind is that I would not recommend these 60mm fenders if your tires are wider than 2.00". My back tire is 2.00" and it has rubbed on parts of the rubber flap on the inside of the fender. If your tire is wider, you will probably have a more difficult time with adjustment, but I have not personally tried a tire that is wider, it just seems to me that it would be difficult.
One downside is that my shoes still get a little wet from splashing that occurs where the front tire contacts the road when I go through big puddles in the rain. This is to be expected, however, as only a fender which goes extremely low or has an extremely wide mud flap could prevent this, and both of those options would not really be rugged enough or suitable for mountain biking (and most of them are homemade anyway, so you could modify these to get the desired result).
Overall, this is a really tough product and I don't even think twice riding down trails with these on my bike. They do the job on all terrain as well as my ride to school.

I put these on my touring bike and they work great. The coverage is among the best of fenders (mud flap is wonderful). They were easy to install and stayed put. Bottom line, they do their job and do it well.

These fenders were easy to install, with multiple mounting options to adapt to different bikes. They work perfectly, on paved bike trails with lots of puddles. They also stand up to rocky dirt roads where rocks hit them and they are not damaged. Make riding in wet conditions much more pleasant.

Comments about Planet Bike HC Freddy Fender Set - 60mm:
Basically writing this review to inform others who have a novara safari that these fenders will bolt up without any modifications. All bolts/necessary hardware is included for a relatively easy install. It took me about 30 minutes since I had no idea what I was doing. Most of it was tightening and loosing the bolts in order to get the fender to line up straight with the tires.
If you do not have a front rack, you have to use the existing rack eyelets for the fender supports. Since the fender is a little wider than the fork gap, you have to squeeze it in there which causes the fender to be slightly misaligned with the tire.
For those people who pay attention to detail like myself, I think I might have to get my dremel and shave some plastic off to alleviate any binding at the fork so it will straighten out.
You also have to bend the support beams downward in the front to clear your pedal stroke while turning at lower speeds. There is about an inch and a half excess.
The only con I can think of so far is when I brake, it seems like the fenders transfer horrible SQUEAKING NOISES when I brake! It's very annoying but hopefully that will go away. I have ridden about 40 miles prior to installing these fenders and have never experienced any brake noise until now. I guess only time will tell!
Pick these fenders up! Not only are they functional, they make my ride look awesome!

if you have a giant bike you have to modify useing plastic ties. there are not enough holes for the brackets. but they go on fairly simple and look ok once they are on
