Comments about Granite Gear Quetico Canoe Portage Pack - Regular:
I have been camping the BWCAW since I was 19, and I finally got my hands on the perfect pack. I took this with me to the Quetico last summer, and it performed perfectly. It has a ton of capacity, plus all of the great assets of hiking packs - lots of extra compartments (like water bottle pockets and map viewer clips), plenty of ways to tighten and center the load, and a fantastic harness and support system. It also sits nice and low in the canoe and is easy to pull in and out of it with all of the straps. I can't say enough about it!

Comments about Granite Gear Quetico Canoe Portage Pack - Regular:
Just got back from the Boundary Waters and this was a great pack at a decent price. There are others that carry more, but I found this coupled with a standard size backpack worked like gangbusters. Wasn't too big which kept from loading too much stuff into it.
Plenty of compression straps on the sides and top to keep everything compact. Sat neatly in the bottom of the canoe. The suspension system on this is fantastic as well. Made for a very comfortable hike through portages.
First, put on the regular backpack on backwards then toss this badboy on your back and it secures everything tightly. If you're looking to get good portage pack at a good price, can't go wrong with this. Even through it's not made in the USA anymore and some people complain about the decline in quality, worked great for me. Then again, it was only 1 trip so we'll see how she holds up after a few more times out.
