The lock was pulled apart by what looks like bare hands, and my bike subsequently stolen. Obviously, I would not recommend this product as I am scrambling for a new bike to get around this city.

The lock is great, but it is difficult to get the gadget that attaches the cable to the (storage) mounting bracket tight enough on the cable. When releasing from the bracket, the gadget comes loose from the cable before it comes out of the bracket. Need a different, or permanently attached, gadget that attaches the cable to the bracket.

I got this lock for an extended self-supported bike tour. I needed something lightweight and versatile.

Combination locks aren't that secure to start with, but this one is particularly bad. If the chain is held tightly apart and the combination gears are spun, it makes a very obvious click when it gets to the right number. So obvious that I was able to figure out the combination and open it with my eyes closed.

A thief who knows this trick can open this lock in as little time as it would take to cut it.

My bike did not get stolen, but I wouldn't trust this lock.

I'm bringing it back to REI for a refund.
