Comments about Life is good Diner Mug:
At long last, someone has brought back a coffee mug that feels as if it will outlast the pound of coffee you bought right after it! These mugs are sturdy and attractive (the graphics are extremely well done), and just "feel right" in your hand. In fact, I now have several at home and at school. They even survive teenagers and graduate students. As to whether I would recommend them to a friend, I gave them as gifts to my colleagues this past holiday season.
One tip for use: If my mug is cold, I fill it with hot water and let it sit for a minute or two, then empty it just before pouring in the coffee. With this pre-heating, it keeps the coffee hot longer than the thermal mug I used to favor.

Comments about Life is good Diner Mug:
I love the design on my mug and it is very sturdy. My only complaint is the handle is quite small - the mug is too heavy to hold with one finger through it, but two don't quite fit. Not the end of the world, though... the mug is shaped so you can hold it without the handle very well.

I love the LIG Mugs, I have several mugs with very nice designs. Never had any problems with them. I have microwaved them, wishwashed them, exposed to high temp liquids...never a problem

I ordered 2 of these during the recent sale. Both had holes in the handles. It was easy enough to return to the store, but REI should not be sending out defective merchandise. I have a LIG mug I bought months ago, defect-free, that is fine and works great. It's a nice sturdy mug. But be warned that REI seems to have some bad ones in the lot - check out your mugs when they arrive!

Comments about Life is good Diner Mug:
I purchased two mugs on sale during REI's Labor Day sale event. I brought one to work yesterday, poured some hot tea into the mug, and then I kept on hearing this faint "tink, tink" sound.... Just couldn't figure out what that sound was. After a while I finally figured out it was the crackling sound of the mug!!! I figured that mug was just a fluke, and brought the other one to work, in fact, today. It's doing the same thing... So disappointed. Now I have two mugs that are cracked inside. The liquid does not leak, but I don't think ceramics mugs are supposed to do that. It's not like I froze the mugs and then put something super hot in them... I'll have to take them back to REI after work. I love Life Is Good products, so this was a bit of a bummer. :-( I think I just got the mugs out of a bad batch. Oh, well. Mine were bone (ivory white) colored mugs with a round life is good logo on them.
