Fitting an Electra bike is easy. Start by setting the saddle to its lowest position and then stand over it with both feet flat on the ground. Next, simply raise the saddle until it rests in the crotch. Tighten it in place, and that's it— you're done! After an initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. I chose this bike because it was pretty. Not knowing anything about bikes and not having ridden in a very long time, I picked solely on looks.

It's beautiful!

But, it doesn't work with ANY accessories. I have kids and I need to take them with me and so far all I have been able to do is parade my equipment in and out of REI looking for an arrangement to do that.

Baby seat- fender is waaay tooo wide. Trailer bike- I'm too short (5'6"! Too short?) to have enough room on my seat post. Bicycle trailer- am unable to replace axle with hitch, because of the internal shifting 'feature'.

The gears don't seem to be enough...even out of shape, I felt like I was taxing the limits of the bike.

The seat is hard.

And, last of all, the thing is very heavy and really long and it is a lot of work for me to get it in and out of my vehicle.

It is really pretty though.

I love my bike so much, I baught the bike to replace my car... and so far so good, its a great ride and its CUTE! The only problem after 2 weeks is that the seat moved down a bit.. But that is not bad... Its a great bike even my 52 yearold aunt can ride it and iam tryin to get my mommy on there but she is 62.. (smile)

any ways i would recomend this bike or this bike company to anyone!
