Comments about Kelty Adventure Child Carrier:
I got this backpack for my husband's birthday. He was so excited to take our little girl "hiking" in the woods. She was 7 months old when we first used it and she was very happy and content in the pack. She fell asleep on th eway back down. It was comfortable for me to carry her (I am 5'1") as well as for my husband to carry her (he is 5'11). Very sturdy and lots of pockets to carry gear. We really love it.

Comments about Kelty Adventure Child Carrier:
I've packed up to 70-80 pounds with this thing (kid maxed at about 25-30lbs)!! No joke! Obviously pushing the extremes with it and it held up well! Up Mt. Shasta, Whitney and most everything in between. Summer, Winter, Snow, Rain, Mud... It took a major beating with only minor wear due to extreme use. Go get one and get your kid outside!!!

Comments about Kelty Adventure Child Carrier:
We used this backpack A LOT when our kid was younger. We would put him in and go hiking! He loved it. He tolerated 6 hours hikes really well (before he started to walk) so I assume it's comfortable. He would sleep fine in it too.
He's now 26 months and we still use it every week when we go rockclimbing. He's happy to get a ride on the way in and happy to sleep in it on the way out!
We use it at least once a week and it still looks like it's new!
The only downside: it's REALLY HARD to get a toddler in and out if you are by yourself!

Comments about Kelty Adventure Child Carrier:
My 2-year-old daughter loves this pack. We've used it since she was about 6 months old. She and my wife and I recently took it on a three-day hike-in camping trip to Channel Islands National Park. It does a good job of distributing the weight so you're not carrying it all on your shoulders. It's much more comfortable than a kangaroo-style front carrier, though you wouldn't want to put a brand-new infant in it. If you plan on hiking alone with your child, bear in mind that it can be hard to see what's going on back there, and there's no way to reach the child when you have the pack on. It does come with a mirror for checking on the little one, but a dropped sippy cup or a hat over the eyes can mean having to stop and remove the pack, which gets old fast. A second adult simplifies things immensely and can also be a big help in getting the pack onto your back. The cargo space is roomier than it looks, but the design doesn't include any way to attach additional items, like a sleeping bag. For the camping trip I managed to attach a bag to the back with bungee cords, but there are no built-in attachment points. I recommend buying the optional stirrups.
