Comments about Therm-a-Rest Trekker Lounge Chair Sleeve - 20-Inch:
Like many other reviewers, I love this product. It goes without saying that a chair with a back is a godsend after a day on the trail. And the nicest thing about this sleeve is that you never have to take it off the pad. It helps protect it from punctures, and it rolls up nicely to throw in my pack. The only negative is that it does add about a pound to your pack weight. But to me, it's worth it.
I agree with other reviewers that the stays (poles) in back and bottom of the chair can be a problem. They are a pretty tight fit in their sleeves, and it can take a few minutes of cursing and swearing to get them in and out (particularly out). So, I trimmed about a half-inch off each of the four stays, and they now pop into and out of the sleeves without any problem. No hesitation in recommending this product.

The support poles are supposed to come out of this thing but this is practically impossible to do. As such it doesn't roll/pack with ANY degree of convenience.
Product should be redesigned so poles come out easily OR it folds, rolls, and compresses the other direction.
Also, side-release buckles on tension straps would be unnecessary if the straps were a few inches longer and not stitched at the ends.
Also, I would like to see this product available with compression straps so you can fold it in half lengthwise and roll it with ProLite 3 and 4 pads.
The pluses of this product are great: Very comfy. Fully protects Therm-a-Rest and eliminates need for stuff sack.
However it's too much hassle to remove the pad from the chair and the pole removal flaw was a deal breaker for me given how pricy this thing is and how easily it could have been remedied. If you get one take it car camping or anywhere space/convenience aren't essential.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Trekker Lounge Chair Sleeve - 20-Inch:
Amazing product. My friends showed it to me a few years back and I just had to get one. I am a cycle tourist and we don't have the luxury of carrying chairs. Usually there are picnic tables but now you can have a picnic table with a seat back. We also just went to France for three weeks and we quickly found out that they don't believe in picnic tables so every night we were cooking and playing cards on the ground. My dad did not have the lounge and he was pretty bummed out because me and my friend both had one. He was skeptical about it at first but when i let him try it for an evening, he was instantly hooked and now he is getting one for Christmas. The poles are a little time consuming but after taking them in and out for 3 weeks straight, you develop strategies for how to do it easily. Thanks for the great product.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Trekker Lounge Chair Sleeve - 20-Inch:
The REI website gives no indication of this, but this chair is designed to work with full length 20 inch sleeping pads. My boyfriend and I both have 3/4 length 20 inch pads. He is a lanky fellow and I am pretty short, so I decided to get the Trekker Chair for me and the Trekker Lounge for him, since I figured it would give him some extra height. Not so. The back was the exact same height as the Trekker Chair, and since it is really supposed to be for full length mattresses it didn't work out well for the 3/4 length. I exchanged the lounge for the regular trekker chair, since my boyfriend couldn't distinguish between them, comfort-wise.
It worked well enough that if I was planning to get a longer mattress in the future I'd put up with the fit problem without complaint, but we are both happy with the 3/4 length mattress for sleeping. The one advantage of the Lounge is that it has quick release buckles, but I think I can sew some after market quick release buckles into the Trekker Chair using upholstery thread.
I did not attempt to remove or replace the poles/rods. They were in the chair when I got it and I can't imagine what advantage there would be to removing them, so I don't see what the fuss is all about. That said, I am not that much of a backpacker, so perhaps there is some magic way to fold it that makes it smaller if you take the poles out. To my thinking, you have to pack the poles anyway so you may as well roll them up in the chair, but maybe other people know something I don't.

This has to be my favorite bit of gear I have!! I took it everywhere, the beach, the mountains along the river on rocks. It held up great and looks just as good as when I bought it. The lounger setup is awesome and the extra cushioning when you make it a chair is great! The poles can be a bit if a bear to get out, but only have to do it once, so not so bad. I recommend this to anyone!!! The best thing I bought by far!!!

This chair is great! Not only does it provide a chair where ever you and your thermarest happen to be but it also protects your thermarest from dirt.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Trekker Lounge Chair Sleeve - 20-Inch:
After a backpacking buddy brought a camp chair on a trip, I realized I couldn't live without one of my own. Because I already had a thermarest I decided on the trekker lounge. I like that you can leave the sleeve on and just unclasp some webbing and sleep on it. Thermarest thought of everything--you can remove the stays and roll the whole thing up, but it's a huge pain! The stays are very difficult to take in and out so my friends are all sitting comfortably long before I get my chair ready. Then I have to do it again to pack up. The whole setup is also pretty heavy (thermarest, chair, and stuff sack to keep it from getting punctured). My chair is much more padded, and I'll stick with it, but it's not perfect.

No more looking for the perfect campsite with something to lean against! Everytime I go with buddies I let them try it out for a few minutes before I take it back. Then it's all they talk about the rest of the trip. Several of my friends have picked up thier own now. Feels like a Lazy-Boy after 12 miles with switchbacks!

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Trekker Lounge Chair Sleeve - 20-Inch:
This thing is great. Not quite as comfortable as a Crazy Creek, but definitely more convenient when backpacking. The fact that it stays on your sleeping pad the whole time is great b/c you can convert it to a lounge chair without having to get out of your sleeping bag.
The only downside is that it is a little bit on the heavy side (I think it adds about 1 pound to your pack - still lighter than a Crazy Creek), but definitely a nice comfort around camp.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Trekker Lounge Chair Sleeve - 20-Inch:
This chair works great with the Toughskin pad. It is roomy enough and comfortable. It doesn't seem to contribute substantially to the bulk of the rolled up pad and is convenient since it doesn't have to be removed from the pad. The only downside is that the straps seem to slip a bit when you're sitting in it, leaving you more in a recline position.
