The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about OnGuard Doberman Cable Bike Lock - 8mm:
I use this lock for daily commuting, and it works well. The one real drawback for me is the clip that attaches the lock to your bike frame. The lock can swivel out side ways and brush against your leg while riding, and the latch can be difficult to activate especially in cold weather, making it difficult at times to disengage the lock from the clip. The lock itself works fine.

Comments about OnGuard Doberman Cable Bike Lock - 8mm:
I've had this lock for about two years now and use it both for my mountain bike and kayak. It provides an acceptable level of security for both. Most often I use it to secure them to my truck tie downs.
Unfortunately, since I have a dual suspension bike, mounting it on the frame for transport is not convenient, however that's a common problem with any locking system. Over all, it self coils well and is easy to store, or throw in a backpack to transport, and dose it's job pretty well.
The only problem I've had with this lock in two years of use, is that the cable inside of the plastic coating rusts pretty easily. After accidently leaving it locked in the bed of my truck for two weeks, I was concerned about the key/lock mechanism rusting. That wasn't a problem, but the inside cable began to rust almost immediately after a single exposure to rain.
If it weren't for the rust issue, I'd give this product 4 stars, but given that most use of this product would be outdoors... I do not find it acceptable to not be properly sealed.

Comments about OnGuard Doberman Cable Bike Lock - 8mm:
I've had this lock for several years. It's a great length, sometimes needed for situations where locking a bike to a large column (if it's the only place available). Easy to lock & unlock. Here's the real reason I'm writing: I locked my bike to a fence at a county fair, walked around, got back to the bike - and realized I forgot the key. Luckily a contingent of police and fire folks were nearby, and had bolt cutters. It took the policeman with bolt cutters a long time to finally cut through the cable. Long enough that everyone standing around was very impressed.

Mine just broke attached to the rack. Vibration knocked the end cap off.
