Comments about Mountain Hardwear Mountain Kilt - Men's:
Try one of these and you'll never go back to pants. Rome was built and the entire known world conquered by men wearing skirts. They are entirely practical. Pants were invented in 500 BC, but not worn much until around 1700, when English royalty foisted their new fashion innovation (think Redcoats) on us.
The Mountain Kilt, with its conical waist and other design innovations, moves with the body without the slightest interference. It only touches you at the waist and gently brushes your thighs at the hemline when you walk. No ugly pleats, tartans, or sporrans; it's comfortable, completely practical, and looks great!
Service and delivery comments:
Thanks, REI for carrying this product. People need to try them on for sizing, so I hope you'll carry them in the REI stores as well. Please put some pressure on Mountain Hardwear to come out with alternative colors.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Mountain Kilt - Men's:
I found this "kilt" very comfortable. Locked in my bedroom... My wife and I aggreed however, that it is NOT a kilt. It's a man skirt. It doesn't look like a kilt, it looks like a skirt. If I were planning a long backcountry trip in a VERY remote area maybe.. It's comfy, but I sent it back...

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Mountain Kilt - Men's:
I have what may be an old version, as it is now at least 4 years old, and I was under the impression that it was discontinued. I wear jeans in a size 40, my waist measures out at 41". In theory, and XL should fit comfortably. Unfortunately, not so... If I can get my weight down and my waist to a 39 or 40", I expect it to fit well. Much more comfortable to hike in during hot weather than my Utilikilt.

It takes a bit of courage to wear around the house the first time, but since you are reading this you acknowledge the comfort of a Kilt makes sense, especially for men and their anatomy.

I love Mountain Hardwear. I love kilts. I would proudly wear a kilt on the trail. This, however, is not a kilt. It is a skirt.[...]

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Mountain Kilt - Men's:
If this had pleats it would be a kilt, I have kilts! This is a wrap, skirt, lavaLava, laplap, sorong, but not a kilt. It is well made comfortable, it even has a modesty snap, but it isn't a kilt.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Mountain Kilt - Men's:
By definition, a kilt is a knee-length garment with pleats at the rear. As this has no pleats, it is NOT a kilt. The advertising for this product is very disingenuous. If you're a guy and have no problems hiking in a skirt made from high performance fabric, by all means buy one. If not, do a search for hiking kilts. There are several available that are in fact, kilts.
