Comments about REI Kilo Expedition -20 Sleeping Bag - Short:
Very good bag, agree with reviews with one MAJOR caveat. There is no way this bag is EN 'comfort' -20F/-27C. That MUST be the extreme temperature rating (this bag is not EN certified). I found it good to -17C (-12C in tent) albeit with silk liner and wearing down jacket and extra layers. I don't normally sleep cold. It is very lightweight if bulky. So for winter camping where temps not extreme a great deal - but where really cold temperatures are expected, spend the extra 300 bucks on a proper bag. Did I mention it's CHEAP? Would give it 5 stars for price and down to -15C. 2 stars for misleading advertising...PS I have the 'regular' version...

This was a warm bag gut the feathers were constantly pushing through the lining.

Comments about REI Kilo Expedition -20 Sleeping Bag - Short:
I am usually always cold. The bag kept me warm while climbing Kilimanjaro.
The zippers catch onto the liners making it hard to get in or out quickly.
Also the bag is light but bulky taking up a lot of room in the backpack.

Comments about REI Kilo Expedition -20 Sleeping Bag - Short:
My go-to bag for overnight winter backcountry trips. Great bag for the price relative to other brands. I sleep cold and am usually comfortable even on the coldest nights wearing a fleece layer.

Comments about REI Kilo Expedition -20 Sleeping Bag - Short:
i'll start by saying that this bag should be compared to bags of the same caliber. My dad went out and purchased the -40 western mountaineering bag and was not happy. He then barrowed mine, the kilo and was much more pleased with the roomyness as well as the bag kept him warmer than his $700 bag. Further more the kilo is water resistant and i have personally slept in it on a frozen beach with only a big agnes insulated air pad and expedition weight thermals on 10 dagree outside temp.this is a great bag period.
