Comments about Mountain Hardwear Light Wedge 3 Tent:
I help out with an alpine climbing class in the Seattle area, so I spend quite a number of nights in my tent.
This tent is great for mountaineering, probably a little overkill for a backpacker. On one trip on Mt Baker I had myself and two students in the tent. With three of us snoring away, we didn't have a single drop of condensation. The way the rainfly door is designed, you can actually have the top of the door unzipped a little bit for increased ventilation and not get rain or snow inside the vestibule. I actually find the tent to be plenty of space for 3 adults. The taper of the tent is excellent, being wider at the shoulders than at the feet, which is an efficient use of the space.
The vestibule size is excellent for 3 climbing packs and the overhead storage is brilliant. A great place to sling your headlamp while you are setting up your sleeping bag in the dark.
I feel confident in it in nasty weather rain/snow and wind are not a problem. I am very happy with this tent for what I use it for.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Light Wedge 3 Tent:
Limited netting area, less ventilation than some newer designs. Very roomy for a 3-place tent, larger footprint than most 3-place tents on the market. Good rainfly coverage for rainy weather, could be alittle warm with limited netting.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Light Wedge 3 Tent:
This makes a perfect all purpose, 3-season, 2+ person tent. I've used it in some pretty uncomfortable situations and it has held up beautifully. The gear storage on the ceiling is very convenient, and the vestibule is sturdy and roomy. Its on the heavy side, but not for what it provides.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Light Wedge 3 Tent:
We bought this tent for car camping, and possibly some easy backpacking. Simple design allows quick setup. Good for 2 adults, would be tight for 3. It's watertight, but with good ventilation. Kept us totally dry during 1"+ hard rain, and we had no condensation inside on another night of 32 degrees. We dislike the large vestibule window that precludes privacy after dark. We devised a way to block it; would be nice if Mtn. Hardwear added a window cover or offered a windowless rainfly. I added short guylines to the center side stake loops on the rainfly to guy it out farther and increase ventilation on warm nights.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Light Wedge 3 Tent:
My finance and I have had this tent for about a year now and absolutely love it. We take it on all of our car camping trips and plan to also take it on a weekend backpacking trip as well.
The two of us plus gear/duffel bags fit comfortably in the tent and we always have plenty of extra room.
As mentioned in some other reviews, the rain fly is my only con against the tent. Sometimes it gets really stuffy in the tent and even with the door open, it's hard to get ventilation in the tent.
Otherwise, this tent has withstood intense wind and rain storms. The rain fly does get pretty wet when it rains but the inside of the tent stays dry as long as your keep your clothes/bags away from the edges of the tent. The rain fly also dries very quickly and provides a lot of privacy. The inside of the tent has several pockets for small things and the gear attic is a must for larger items or drying wet clothes. Overall, we love this tent and would definitely recommend it to a friend.

While this is a definite 2 person tent, it performs perfectly. On a recent Boy Scout outing, the wind took 3 other tents airborne(while full of gear), this tent hardly fluttered, and even with the driving rain I stayed nice and dry.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Light Wedge 3 Tent:
My husband and I bought this to replace our cheap tent we started camping in. We love that one of use can set it up while the other does other things. Last weekend it stood up to 50+ mph winds in Fort Davis, TX. We saw some other tents blow down or collapse but our Light Wedge didn't even shrug. Haven't been in the rain yet, can't comment on that. We do car camping and are comfortable with two people and assorted stuff in the tent. My husband is 6'2" and has plenty of length.
I do not like it the vestibule, maybe it is because I am clumsy but it is awkward to exit the tent without face planting in the dirt. It also gets pretty stuffy with the fly on but when we are parks without lots of privacy we prefer to have it on. Without it I believe the ventilation would be pretty nice.

I used this tent in multiple car camping trips and short backpacking trips. Camped over 9000ft locations with gusty winds and had no problems getting blown away. At over 6 feet tall, the tent had enough space for 2 people comfortably.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Light Wedge 3 Tent:
I really like this tent, although my only beef with it has always been the lack of good guy points on the rain fly. However, looking at the current photo, it looks as if that problem has been solved - so I cannot really complain too much since it seems to have been fixed, at least I hope it was since that older "model" had quite a poor fly design.
