Comments about Timex Ironman 30-Lap Heart Rate Monitor:
Bought it 2 years ago and I since acquired 4 additional chess straps as they stop functioning properly. Lousy technical department service that could not fix problem.

Comments about Timex Ironman 30-Lap Heart Rate Monitor:
A great watch and HRM combined. I use the watch everyday, and the HRM functions at every workout ( 5-9 times a week )
Unlike the HR watches from Polar, Suunto, or Garmin, this watch functions well as an everyday watch, and has the benefit of the HRM built in.
I also have the Timex data recorder which records all my workouts so that I can track and analyze my workouts on the PC. THis combination makes an amazing training aid.
The HRM transmitter does tend to give up after 9-12 months. I have had some success with replacing batteries which also seem to run out around the 9-12 month mark. Sometimes this fixes things, othertimes the HR strap just dies. THis problem is not unique to this watch, all the HRM straps give up sooner or later. I have used HRMs from Polar, Suunto, and Garmin and they all do the same thing somewhere between 9-15 months.
I have one (full size), my wife has one (mid sized), and i am just about to buy a third for my daughter (mid sized) who is starting to workout as well.

Comments about Timex Ironman 30-Lap Heart Rate Monitor:
This product lives up to it's [$] tag, it provides average, max, amd min HR, along with numerous other standard Timex functions. If you know how to train with HR and don't want to kill the band account on another piece of equipment then buy this one!

Comments about Timex Ironman 30-Lap Heart Rate Monitor:
The watch/strap seemed very susceptible to electrical interference and lost the signal at least once a workout. If you listen to music while you exercise you can't hear the lost signal alert beep and then when you finally do notice you've missed tracking part of your workout. The strap has lots of plastic and twice it snapped off at a connection point rendering it unusable. After the second time that happened I bought a different, albeit more expensive, brand.

Comments about Timex Ironman 30-Lap Heart Rate Monitor:
This HR watch worked great to begin with. After about 4 mths, it began to only give me HR's in the 220+ range. Timex told me to change batteries. I did and it continued to give me super high HR's. With the WONDERFUL [...] return policy, I took the watch back w/my receipt and had it replaced. The watch was out of stock...so I had to wait a couple of weeks. New watch has been working great for 2 mths now! Also, the face of the first watch got a huge scratch within the first week of ownership. Who konws??
