Nice and handy, great zipper pulls!

I buy this stuff by the skein it seems! I use it as bear bag line, carry it as a replacement for the ubiquitous coil of parachute line when camping/backpacking, form hand/haul loops out of it on tool etc handles, and my FAVORITE USE: I replace nearly EVERY zipper pull on nearly everything I get with this! Yes the hot/bright pink clashes with just about everything, HOWEVER, it is high vis and therefore very easy to find at a glance and also makes it easy to tell at a glance whether zippers are secured (closed) or not. At the same time it is not nearly as expensive nor abrasive as the reflective (guy) line cordage.

DO NOT GET THIS FOR BEAR BAGS

This is great for shoe laces and tying little things. HOWEVER, I bought this for a bear bag cord after reading people's reviews saying that's what they use it for. DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOUR FOOD BAG IS SUPER SMALL/LIGHT! If not, the weight of the food bag essentially cuts the cord into the tree branch like a saw as you pull it up. Sometimes it will get stuck and you can feel the cord stretching as opposed to sliding over the branch. In these moments I have to drop the food bag a little and pull it up again or I know the cord will tear. I want to give this a poor rating but I know it's just because I bought it for the wrong reason. DON'T LISTEN TO PEOPLE ON HERE AND DO NOT BUY THIS FOR YOUR BEAR HANG!!

A Must Have for the Budget-Conscious

Works great for hanging a bear bag. It's around 1/2 the strength of the spectra/dyneema cord I was going to get but it's less than 1/2 the price, too. It's perfectly adequate for guy lines, bear bagging, and for field repairs like making a new shoe lace or for fashioning a hammock drip line that you somehow lost. This line holds knots much better than dyneema cord but the slickness of dyneema is an advantage when bear bagging PCT-style. When this begins to wear out once day, I'll probably replace it with some spectra/dyneema (maybe some heavy-duty fishing line) but I'll probably still want some of this as a backup for various field repairs.

Not pink

I braid leashes out of this stuff, performs well, and isn't pink. The cord I received seems to be yellow and purple. Very supple cord, easy to work with. I ordered over 100 yards of the stuff and it didn't come on a spool, instead it was wound up and taped. took me 3 hours to undo it and put on a spool.

Great Cord

Just use this cord everywhere, makes a good cat toy, small enough to slide trough that tiny hole on the camera, quick and easy key chain, quick loop for my REI Ti spork, grab hoops for zippers, tying stuff off to my bag… the list is endless… and just keep running out the stuff. It’s also super soft and supple yet holds it shape to a knot but will go back to smooth and supple after a few minutes. Have fun

Ideal drawstring in most stuff sacks: saves weight

I have used the PMI Utility Cord - 2mm for years as a replacement for the drawstring in most stuff sacks. I replace the orignal thicker, heavier cord with the PMI 2mm. I also replace the larger, heavier toggle lock with a mini-toggle. This replacement of cord and toggle is ideal for small to mid-size stuff sacks used to carry miscellaneous gear.

Great zipper pulls

I have used this cord multiple times now to replace broken or worn out zipper pulls on my packs. Seems about the right diameter for any zipper you might have and should be small enough to use on jackets too.

My go to cord

A very versatile cord for hiking. I know there is a 550 para-cord craze going on, but i like this stuff much better. It's lighter, doesn't tangle at all and is crazy strong. I use it for bear bagging, guy lines, tarps, repairs ... basically everything. I never go on any hike without 50 feet of the stuff.

Agree that this isn't suitable bear bag line

I bought 50' to use as bear bag line, because it is lighter than paracord. It is so light that it immediately turned into a tangled mess the first time I tried to hang a bag. It doesn't glide over branches as well as paracord either. It's plenty useful for other things like guylines.
