Comments about Smith Toaster Sunglasses - Slider Series - Polarized:
I ordered a pair and tried them. If you dig style alone -- these may be for you. For the practical who want their eyes protected, please read on. First problem was the frames were not even: One side tipped higher than the other. Second problem is that the lens are small = no periperal protection. Third problem is that the lens eventually work themselves loose (up). Paying over $100 for a pair of sunglasses should get you some quality but these did not have it. I returned them and purchased a more expensive pair and the quality was there. I can't see any reason to purchase Smith over the cheapies at [...] and elsewhere. In a nutshell they are all style and not much use.

Comments about Smith Toaster Sunglasses - Slider Series - Polarized:
I use these as my every-day glasses and love them. They are lightweight and very comfortable. I have a small head so they fit me well. I would think someone with a larger head would find these are too small or tight. I have the polarized lenses and they are great. Lenses are easy to change out, although you need to be careful not to crack the frame in the process. And the lenses always getting smudges on them when you removed them. So you will have to clean them often. Overall, wonderful glasses!

Comments about Smith Toaster Sunglasses - Slider Series - Polarized:
I've now bought these glasses twice (I lose things easily). They are lightweight on your face and sit comfortably on your nose without slippage. Most glasses for me are either too wide, or too heavy so they'll slip down my nose (I have a flatter nose). I take these out on the water, hiking, and running out doors. The frames have stretched out from sitting on top of my head, so don't do it if you don't want that to happen. I've also tried the Smith Sequels and Natives, but I always come back to the polarized Toasters.

Comments about Smith Toaster Sunglasses - Slider Series - Polarized:
I wear these every time I walk outside, and have for the past 2 years. I also work on the water, and they are really great- I have the polarized lenses-so worth the extra cost- and the water doesn't have that harsh glare.
They are very comfortable, and have a classic shape, which is nice.
Although I have scratched both of the 2 lenses that are darker, and they are stratched out so badly from popping them atop my head.... I still recommend them.
Another plus, is that Smith has offered repair, which is fantastic- if only I can find a way to part with them for a little while!

I originally bought these sunglasses a few years ago. Since then, I've re-ordered replacement lenses. Now, the replacement lenses are no longer available. Please bring back the replacement lenses REI! I don't want to have to find another type of sunglasses to use.

This tiny sunglasses are too small even for my narrow face. They might make an indoor fashion statement but are totally useless in actual sunlight. Skip these and get real sun protection for your eyes.

Comments about Smith Toaster Sunglasses - Slider Series - Polarized:
I love the Smith toasters because they are durable and reliable! Even when I have loaded the lenses wrong the frames managed to maintain their integrity and the lenses stayed in. My old pair survived 4 years of near constant use (including being lightly squished in my purse, every now and again) and will become my back-up pair when I get another color of Toasters soon. My frames came nice and straight when I got them and only got slightly off-kilter through abuse. Smith will replace the nose and ear-piece pads if necessary (I only needed that after 3 1/2 years of use). As a naturalist, I often need to see the true colors of an object and the polarized or clear lenses work best for that. As a person living in the Puget Sound area of Washington, there are a lot of overcast days where the yellow lenses come in handy! If more peripheral protection is necessary, I recommend the Smith Axis as I own a pair for cycling.

It is rare for a pair of sunglasses I own to go unscratched or not get broken with in the first month I own them and I have done just about anything you can to these and they still are brand new!

Comments about Smith Toaster Sunglasses - Slider Series - Polarized:
Classic shape, the lens colors are suitable for any light condition. I have trouble with headaches so the sunglasses with stems that 'grip' your head don't work at all for me and it seems most manufacturers are going that direction. These are standard stems. Also am a contact wearer and these provide adequate protection from the wind for most activites with the exception of skiing/snowboarding. They do provide enough wind protection for cycling.
Newer 'hard' case much better than soft case that came with previous version of Toaster. Only tiny minor thing that bugs me is that the spare lenses don't stay put in the pockets in case very well, every time I travel with them they end up all over the place so I'm sure they'll get scratched up eventually.
