Pigs has been around since the 70's and is a fantastic game for getting a few laughs, and enjoying a mindless dice game. The best is explaining the game and all the pig positions to newcomers. Great size for traveling or backpacking, but probably not great for car rides as you need a flat, stable surface to play.

I have an older version of this game and I must echo the comments of the earlier reviewers. This is a fun game for the entire family. It would not be good for very young children unless supervised as the pigs themselves would be a choking hazard.

I've had a version of this game since I was a little kid and have never gotten bored with it! One thing you can do to make it more backpacking friendly is take the parts in a ziploc bag and leave the heavy plastic case at home, you don't actually need it. Also, we have always used this game in car camping trips and it's easy to use in a car if you have a big hardbound book to use as a flat surface. If you're thinking your car doesn't ride smooth enough, I was using the game with a book like this in an old 80's Ford Truck so it will work in just about any car with some minimal rerolling.
