Comments about Grivel G-12 New-Matic Crampons with Antibott Device:
I got lucky with some sort of pricing mistake and ended up with these when I was just browsing.
I have since taken them up the Matterhorn, all over the White Mountains (NH) and vertical Ice climbing.
They are excellent "universal" crampons. with 12-points and aggressive teeth, they can do anything that an 8 or 10 point will do, albeit more ungainly, but also rock and ice climb. They're tough, and so far unbreakable. I've debated getting a more flexible 10 point for light alpinism and a stiff vertical-front-point pair of ice climbing crampons, but these simply do it all. They are ideally suited to AD-D Mountaineering, because they shed glacial or soft snow very well, and can rock and ice climb on the front points.
I highly recommend anything Grivel makes, they simply set the standard and everyone else just tries to keep up or reach towards more recreational consumers.
The Anti-Bot plates on the Grivel crampons are rounded bubbles that flex to imperceptibly *pop* the snow right off with every step. No other crampon that I know of can do the same. All brands can keep the snow from between your boot, but only Grivels shed it below too.
Consider your type of climbing/hiking carefully, and ask people in the know, but these are great :)

Comments about Grivel G-12 New-Matic Crampons with Antibott Device:
I used to use the Grivel 2F and was real bummed that when it was time to replace them that they were no longer available. I then purchased G12's and I absolutely love everything about them. The strap system with the heel lock is easy to use and the crampons feel secure to my boots.
The antibots are great as snow no longer balls up under the crampon which is inconvenient and dangerous.
They weight does not bother me because it makes me feel that these crampons are durable. I belive these will last many years!

Comments about Grivel G-12 New-Matic Crampons with Antibott Device:
The previous reviews were good. But the sizing is way off. I wear a 12 & I couldn't get my hiking boot to fit, let alone my mountaineering boots. The Product looks good[...] If you wear a size 10, it shouldn't be a problem. If you have a size 11, bring your boots to the store if you are lucky enough to live near one.
