Comments about Kelty Yellowstone 4 Tent:
We have used this tent numerous times and in all types of climates over the past three years. One thing that stays consistent is that no matter how much it rains, and it has all night long, it will stay dry. It also has great ventilation in all weather. It sets up very easy, I've done it by myself a few times. One thing I do suggest is purchasing a footprint. The floor of the tent is a little thin, so it is worth the [$] to protect it from whatever may be beneath it. It will also keep the dampness out.Overall, this is a quality product!

Comments about Kelty Yellowstone 4 Tent:
Bought this tent as a roomy 2-person car camping tent. Camped two weeks w/ lots of rain and wind, and the tent stayed dry (we sealed the seams) and held up well. Don't tie the velcro loops on the fly to the poles, they started to pull off the seam tape!

Comments about Kelty Yellowstone 4 Tent:
I have to give it credit for size, ease of set up and rain fly attachment all were very good for my car camping needs, but that's where my praise ends.
The floor was very thin as I could "see" through it. Once set up I was discouraged by the fact that the stakes were very, very weak. I bent two of them without much effort.
The door was where my biggest gripe fell, there was a patch of material sewn to stop the window fly, which covered the door zipper, this took effort to pull past to open the door all the way. Closing the door was not very easy either, where the two zippers met required a bit of fiddling to get it to close completely.

Comments about Kelty Yellowstone 4 Tent:
We first used this tent for a trip to Rocky Mtn NP and found it easy to set up and get in and out of. The frame and fly withstood a night of very gusty winds without complaint.

Comments about Kelty Yellowstone 4 Tent:
Due to the slope of the walls, there's a considerably smaller amount of usable space in the tent than its 96"x96" footprint. I ended up sleeping diagonally to make sure my head wasnt in the side. (I'm 6'5")
Poles will bend an alarming amount in gusty, broadside winds, but will not break, or collapse on your head.
Would definitely suggest a tarp or footprint in rocky/sandy conditions. floor material isn't super sturdy.
Even with the fly on, stays well ventilated in slight breezes on those hot Joshua Tree days.
Incredibly easy to set up, since there are no sleeves to push poles through, just clips.
Was wonderful at San Mateo and San Luis Obispo beach camping sites, even in the rain (Great Fly!).
Joshua Tree terrain abused it, lots of tiny scratches/tears.

Comments about Kelty Yellowstone 4 Tent:
This summer I built a car camping set, because of this I was not too concerned about weight and size of all my camping needs. I bought this tent mainly because of the price, I want to get a step up from the standard big-box store tent, but didn't feel like venturing in the cost of a backpacking tent.
The two times I've used it so far have all been during rainy weekends. The first weekend the tent stay dry and held up to the weather. The second weekend we got a few drops in the tent, but I blame this mostly on the sloping ground we had to set it up on, but I am not going to belly-ache about a few drop, all the gear and people in the tent stayed dry.

Comments about Kelty Yellowstone 4 Tent:
I used this tent on the Oregon Bike Ride for a week. It went up and packed easily. It has lots of room. The only drawback was it is impossible to put up in a strong wind, and almost blew down in a strong wind. Still, a good value for the money.

Held up well during a super windy night, even without using the guyout points. Should have used them, would of made a huge difference.
Good tent so far for the money.

Comments about Kelty Yellowstone 4 Tent:
I was looking at getting a cheapo tent but reconsidered after reading numerous online reviews. This tent was at the top end of my budget but I am sure it will last me at last 10-15 years of camping after using it this past weekend. I've been a camper for 27 years so I've seen a good share of tents, mostly bad ones. The tent withstood 2 days of thunderstorms without leaking a drop, the water runs right off the fly. My friends got a tent from [...]and the rain soaked right into their rainfly. The size is great, fit my queen size air mattress with tons of extra room. Super easy to setup and especially taking it down. High quality construction all around.

Comments about Kelty Yellowstone 4 Tent:
This 8x8 tent is perfect for my wife and our two dogs. I have set it up by myself in about 15 minutes and less than 10 minutes with the help of my wife. It holds up well to the windy Wyoming days and the heavy mist of Estes Park. The ventilation is nice for hot July evenings, but it warms up quickly when the sun is on it. I haven't tried sleeping in it without the fly on it, but might do so this summer if a clear night is expected. Overall this is a good starter tent for the money and you should definitely purchase a footprint for it to save the bottom.
Service and delivery comments:
I bought this in-store in Fort Collins and took it camping the next weekend. The door was missing a zipper so I couldn't close the bottom portion. Kelty and REI customer service was great, returned it to REI and got it replaced. Check your equipment before you leave your house for a trip.
