Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
From what I understand this light was designed and marketed for the rescue community by Princeton Tech. My first experience with it was last year during a night search. One of the guys with us forgot his headlamp so he grabbed an EOS [...]on his way out of town. His light put all the others to shame. Water proof, compact low profile, light weight, Tough construction, and as bright as a handheld flashlight. The focused beam had excellent reach. Needless to say, everyone kinda gravitated toward this guy when we were picking our way through the darkness in the river canyon.Being an LED, you will have battery life for days on end. At least one operational period at full brightness and 56 hrs at the lowest setting (over 4 days of constant use). The beam is fixed but you do have three brightness settings for adjustment and to extend battery life. It's water proof, making it ideal for rescue work and pretty much guaranteeing it will work in the rec world.Another feature that sold us was the strobe. Excellent for getting peoples attention and distinguishing your position in low light conditions.I use this light for rescue work and wildland firefighting. Also great to have on a camping or backpacking trip. When someone asks me about headlamps this is the only one I recommend. It is now a standard component of our technical rescue ensemble. The only cons I have are with the AAA batteries. Sometimes they can be hard to find. I've had my EOS for 9 months with varied use and I am still on the original batteries. I think I will probably lose this light before the battery runs out. Also if water does get into the shell it will fry the electronics. So make sure the cover screw is tight before you get wet.

Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
This light is bright! And it stays bright for quite a long time. Unlike some others this model has a voltage regulator in it; so, it tends to stay brighter longer. My only complaint is that the light comes on at the brightest setting, which can really ruin your night vision if you're not expecting it. Wish it started out low and then got brighter. This is a great light.

Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
I have about 5 Princeton lights and have no complaints but this one now is the main one I use. I typically keep it on a lower level to conserve battery but when you need the light it is there.

Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
GREAT LAMP BUT IF I HAD A CHOICE I WOULD BUY THE BLACK DIAMOND SPOT. ITS A BIT LIGHTER AND I LIKE HOW IT ILLUMINATES. THE PROBLEM IS THERE IS NO SENSOR THAT SHOWS YOU WHEN THE BATTERY IS LOW. IT WILL JUST GET DIM AND EVENTUALLY GO OUT. ONCE I WENT CAVING WITH MY FRIEND JEFF IN FLAGSTAFF AND AFTER A FULL DAY WE DID ONE MORE TRAVERSE DOWN A SMALL SLOT WE HAD TO TURN BACK CAUSE IT WENT OUT IT TOOK A WHILE TO GET THE BATTERIES IN AGAIN BUT WHEN WE DID I WONT LIE THE SUCKER IS BRIGHT BUT THE LED WILL ONLY LIGHT UP WHAT YOUR POINTED AT. I LIKE THAT ITS ADJUSTABLE. GOOD WHEN YOUR HIKING OUT AT NIGHT. VERY SIMPLE AND LONG LIFE. ITS ALSO H2O PROOF TO A METER SO DONT WORRY ABOUT THE RAIN. FITS NICELY UNDER MY ELIOS VISION HELMET FROM PETZL TOO. BUT I LIKED IT SO MUCH I BOUGHT 3

Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
Great headlamp. I highly recommend LED lights with regulated power supplies, like this one. My old Petzl just got dimmer and dimmer as the battery wore down. The Princeton Tec's regulation ensures that the power output remains much more constant, so the light will be bright even if the battery is low.

Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
The three intensities plus the flashing light meet all of my requirements. I use the various intensities for DIY projects requiring spotlight for my work. The blinking feature is great for walks since it floods the pathway with light but conserves energy. It's also handy as a flashlight.
