Comments about Kelty Trail Dome 6 Tent:
I purchased this tent 2 years ago at full price and have had nothing but problems with it. I sent it back to Kelty after our first trip (it was a windy Desolation and Grey rafting trip) Our tent failed miserably and we could not zip the door shut after the 2nd night. Upon our return I sent it back to Kelty (tent had been used on 1 trip!) They sent it back to me with a LETTER saying that we should only be camping in grass in NON windy places). I believe they are based out of Boulder Colorado. Is there a grassy, non windy place in Colorado - besides a park, maybe??? We are adventuresome and use our tent at least 75 days/year. I paid to have the zippers fixed once, babied it for another season and now the zippers don't work at all - I don't think I would buy another Kelty product again. And I show the letter to everyone!

Comments about Kelty Trail Dome 6 Tent:
I took this tent to Lake Powell this past fall. It was easy enough to set up, but I wasn't impressed with how tight the zippers were stretched. It made it difficult for the girls to open the door. We thought it might rip. We also had some winds that night that bent the poles badly.

Comments about Kelty Trail Dome 6 Tent:
I bought this tent through the Internet specifically for family camping (at the beach, in summer, with small kids). The tent is great, lots of space, good height for standing inside and I have even fit a "pack and play" inside. The only con I see is the fly. It's easy to set up, but it is always loose and feels flimsy. Also a warning on camping in colder climates, the excellent (and big) mesh panel allows extra ventilation and no condensation, but allows the cold air to get in easily.

Comments about Kelty Trail Dome 6 Tent:
Being 6'8" with a wife who is 6'0", and camping with two dogs, we wanted something with plenty of room. For us, this is it. I can't see 6 people in here, unless they are 5'6".
Set up was a snap, and our first trip with it was in the middle of some mean wind. It set up relatively easy in the wind, and once staked, it took the brunt pretty easily.
The "window" configuration is great, allowing us to see the night sky above us. Plenty of loops for gathering doors and panels, as well as connecting string for drying and lanterns. It has 4 very handy pockets in each corner for hanging small personal items and things like water bottle.
All in all, very handy tent, great for car camping. Although, it seems that it packs up pretty tight, so it may be usable for hiking, just haven't tried it yet.

Comments about Kelty Trail Dome 6 Tent:
This was our first tent purchase as a family. The tent was easy to set up and had anough room for our family of 4. We were camping in the mountains of nc. We really liked the tent except that it leaked! The tent leaked at a seam about 6 inches off the ground on the front and back. It did not leak much but enough to wet our sleeping bags. We are returning this tent only because of the leak. We also decided during the rain that we would prefer a tent with a vestibul.

Comments about Kelty Trail Dome 6 Tent:
I love this tent. I had a tent I loved for years I had to replace and I looked for over a year before I selected this tent. This tent is very easy to set up. I am an "older" woman and I can easily set it up myself. I did have trouble with the aluminum poles. I met with two nights of 70 mile per hour winds and the poles may have had a manufacture defect. I had to return the tent due to the poles, [...]. I had registered the tent with Kelty. I will however, purchase the same tent again. It is wonderful in the rain. There was a two hour hail storm in Yellowstone park and at the end of the day after a full day of very wet weather, everything was dry. I had three adults in the tent. I can't imagine six adults. The fly is very easy to attach. I did recommend this tent to a friend.

Comments about Kelty Trail Dome 6 Tent:
This is a great tent. For its size and capacity it is extremely light weight. There are two large windows on the sides and two "skylight" windows on the adjacent sides, all provide great ventilation for warm weather camping or a day at the beach. The rain fly is literally a snap to attach and creates a nice sun/rain shade over each door, there are two, another great feature.

Comments about Kelty Trail Dome 6 Tent:
I love this tent. I bought it this summer and I went camping several times. I was really satistfied it. It has two doors for convenience and two windows. It is good for raining weather also. I recommand this for four or five family. I don't think it's for 6 people.

Comments about Kelty Trail Dome 6 Tent:
In the early spring in 2007 a storm overnight came through the Willard Bay campgroung. Most people with tents packed up early and left. The folks camping next to me took shelter in their RV. In the morning their tent's were twisted piles of junk. My tent the Ketly Trail dome 6 stayed fully erect and did not leak.

Comments about Kelty Trail Dome 6 Tent:
Great tent. Lot's of room for the family. Survived two days of downpours on two different trips. We stayed dry while others literally bailed the water out of their tents or left the camping event. Only negative is the appearance of wavy lines in the netting.
