Comments about Continental Sport Contact Tire - 26 x 1.6:
I purchased these tires to mount on a second wheelset so that I can use my mountain bike for commuting. Rolling 24 miles on hard pavement with a pair of knobbies mounted on the frame just wasn't cutting it. After mounting the slicks I cut my commute time down by 30 minutes! Needless to say, the low rolling resistance of slicks does make quite a difference. I encounter quite a bit of road debris along my route, which includes glass, nails, and other foreign objects which threaten to compromise the integrity of your tires, and so far these tires have held up extremely well. If you do intend to swap these tires out on only one set of wheels, I highly recommend you get yourself a good set of levers. These tires are flippin' near impossible to mount by hand, but worth the effort once you get these bad boys on the rims. Although I haven't tried another pair of slicks, I will go out on a limb and say that these are definitely worth the price of admission. I can't imagine how a tire in this category can be better. If you plan on commuting on a mountain bike, you owe it to yourself to get a pair of these slicks PERIOD.

I put these on my Mt. Bike so i could use it as a commuter. The difference between the stock knobby tires and these are insane. Takes away all vibration and noise, my commute is quiter and faster. Make sure you have a set of tire levers when you attempt to mount these.

Comments about Continental Sport Contact Tire - 26 x 1.6:
I use this tire on a urban-type bike for a short commute to work. The main distance of the commute is on a packed gravel pedestrian/cycle trail. The tire is dependable, stable and rolls very well. When the trail has been re-gravelled and is loose, I expect the tires to roll and become off balance but they never have. The tread pattern seems to dissipate rain so I find my back stays clean of water, grit, etc. w/o fenders.

Converted my mountain bike to a commuter with these tires and love em - super smooth and fast. These are just the ticket if you want some nice slicks. I didn't have any problems mounting them.

Comments about Continental Sport Contact Tire - 26 x 1.6:
Bought a set February 2008 for commuting to work. I do 14 miles per day. My commute route is all pavement but with the typical road junk (glass, rocks, pieces of metal, leaves) along the way. I have 3200 miles of the tires with no problems so far. At max pressure I fly along with ease. Cornering is great even in the rain. Don't know how long they will last but they still look and ride good.
The only time I had a problem was in the snow and ice. Being a road slick I didn't expect they would handle it at all, but they actually did to a point. On the straight and narrow they tracked fine, but the first sharp turn, even going very very slow, down I went. But that is what I expected.
Will definitely replace with the same tire whenever these wear out.

I've found that after 3,000 miles or so my flats become too frequent so I retire them when I reach that mileage. I don't think that they should be touted for durability. Their strong point is grip. Nice and sticky with low rolling resistance and awesome cornering.
I've used them on two tours of the Skyline Drive & Blue Ridge Parkway. I ride them almost daily in the city. I've never slipped in a turn. I've literally had cyclists behind me fall in turns, that, to me, felt easy & secure. I ride them at max inflation all the time on asphalt and I soften them up for gravel. They are a great bargain.

I mainly got these tires for my hard-tail MTB since I signed up for the Malibu Triathlon. Right after I put these on, I noticed an incredible difference. I'd say 25% easier to ride with these tires. And man, they were worth every penny on raceday. I was keeping up with many the road bikes and even passed a bunch of them! And I hit 42mph on one of the downhill runs! I wouldn't hesistate to recommend these to anyone!
