This footpack was installed on my 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek for use with a Thule cargo box we have had for a few years. The construction of the product is top notch and with the exception of some fiddling around with the alignment the install was very easy. No issue with the initial 1800 mile trip and I am confident these will last for as long as I own the car so they will see plenty of future use.

I am generally happy with the 450 feet, but the tools to remove them come right in the handles. While this made it easy to install, it also means that without the lock cylinders, anybody can remove the rack with your own tools. I'd guess you would be buying the locks anyway, so this is really a non-issue. Other than that, I like the way the mouting system works and the whole rack is rock solid.

Factory roof rack vehicle

Nice product, which let me make use of some old steel crossbars I had from an earlier setup. These attachments clamp tightly to the factory roof side rails. Noise is not too bad at high speeds, sounds like mostly from the square bars. The vehicle is a short term demo that I won't have more than a few months, or I would have purchased an aero bar setup.

I've had this over 2 years, bought it at REI. Use it with the Thule bike racks (will review separately) and other multiple uses (works great for moving mattresses for friends!). This has been a wonderful product and I don't really notice any difference in road noise when I've got the racks on/off the car.

It is slightly difficult to take it on and off, just due to the way that the spacing is required on my Santa Fe, but worth every ounce of effort.

This is a great rack system with solid construction and looks great. I had to use a combination of things in order to make it work properly with my aftermarket Defender Roof Rack, but once I set it up and through some boards up there it worked like a charm. The whole setup is pretty easy to install and remove. The setup is also very quiet while on the road and I have not had any rust issues, as some reviewers have reported. Great products guys!

This is what I used to make everything work properly:

-Thule Crossroad Railing Foot Packs
-Yakima FatCat 6 Ski/Snowboard Mounts

I really like this product. Much easier to install than other brands I tried. I used this system in conjunction with other manufacture cargo box, and 50 inch bars. Up and running in about 10 minutes. Like the fact that each unit has it's own hex tool included. Traveled cross country to Colorado to visit family. There were no noises, whistling, anything at all! Even at 75mpg. Much less expensive then OEM factory system.

I bought this rack for my 2011 Sienna, which was hit from behind and ended up in the shop for two months. Hence, I was able to reinstall this rack onto a Dodge Caravan and a Chrysler Town N Country for the interim while my van was being fixed, easy to install on all three vehicles. There is a little air noise when accessories are not attached, though the air noise was significantly reduced once the J cradles were installed.

I've preveiously used the Thule bike and ski racks for years on a Ford Explorer with a little noise, however, I installed new 450 Crossroad and bars on a 2006 Toyota Highlander and the wind starts moaning at about 20 mph and gets worse with speed. I've rearranged them with no success. I could buy a fairing but not sure I want more stuff on the roof.

I've had several roof racks, both Yakima and Thule, and these are the best I've had! They are so easy to take on and off, that I only put them on the vehicle when I am going to use them. Further... I use the same set on two vehicles, a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder and a 2005 Pontiac Vibe. They work great on both vehicles. I also used them on a 2001 Ford Explorer before that. They last longer because they aren't exposed to the elements as much, by taking them off when not used. Great product that requires less "fiddling around" than any rack I've ever had.
