Comments about PacSafe Metrosafe Secure Shoulder Bag:
I took this bag on a trip to Europe this past summer. I felt it was very secure and made a point of wearing it across my chest. My passport, glasses, pen, currency and other small personal items fit nicely. My digital camera did not fit, but my small camera case had a loop that slipped over the bag's shoulder strap, allowing me to carry the camera and bag as a single unit - very handy and convenient. The bag is very sturdy. I plan to use it again on future trips. Recommended improvement: Add a flat, open pocket on the back for easy access to train tickets, boarding passes and trip itineraries.

Comments about PacSafe Metrosafe Secure Shoulder Bag:
The wire in the pack makes it difficult to open. While it is great that it may hinder others from getting into your stuff, it makes it harder to get your own things out. Also, the wires on the main strap came loose on my pack and now poke me. Converting it to a waist/hip bag seems awkward.
Those issuse asside, I love this pack. The strap is long enough to cross your body, further providing protection in pickpocket areas. I carry my cell phone in one of the small pockets, sunglasses in the other, my mp3 player and headphones in the back pocket, and all my cash and cards on the other side. And there's a little room to spare. (Not much though...)

Comments about PacSafe Metrosafe Secure Shoulder Bag:
I bought this bag thinking that it would be great for traveling. (See above review.) It is a good bag, but I read too much into their security claims. Although it probably helps prevent secretive pick-pocketers, if force is applied to the strap (as opposed to a knife through the wire) the metal clasps do bend and you can say goodbye to all your stuff! It's an unfortunate lesson to learn so you'd be better off buying a cheaper bag that looks cute than this one.

Comments about PacSafe Metrosafe Secure Shoulder Bag:
I took this to Europe because I didn't want to wear a money belt. It was the perfect size to hold my money, passport and other small items I might need. You can clip the zippers closed and wear the shoulder strap across your body, so I didn't have to worry in pickpocket heavy areas like subways and such. The only problem was that after a few days of wearing it on the same shoulder it hurt a little where the strap had been. Solution: switch shoulders every so often.

Comments about PacSafe Metrosafe Secure Shoulder Bag:
I have owned three (3) of these bags. All have failed for the same reason. Of the three, the first one served me best. The strap was comfortable and the pac suited the purpose well. After about a year, the swivel snap pulled out of its base. I went to REI and bought two more of these pacs. The second one I used lasted about 6 months, and failed the same way. On this one, the strap would occasionally become twisted behind my back and became uncomfortable to wear while driving. The third pac failed for the same reason after only a month. The strap on this pac was very very uncomfortable from the start and would not lay flat no matter what. Though the pacs are very handy and convenient, I doubt the security claims because any hard tug on the staps and your stuff is gone. I also carry some expensive toys with me, and my passport frequently, and cannot afford to give this pac a fourth try. Sorry, but I'd rate it at 1 out of 5, and the one point I would give it is its ease of use.

Comments about PacSafe Metrosafe Secure Shoulder Bag:
I bought this as a sturdy bag for my binoculars and camera and it works wonderfully for that. The strap needs a pad though which can be put on and I did have to remove an inner divider to make room but otherwise it is a great bag to haul your stuff in. Since the camera and binoculars cost almost a grand I wanted a theft resistant bag and this has the features I wanted for that.

Comments about PacSafe Metrosafe Secure Shoulder Bag:
I found the placement of the strap on the bag to make it a bit cumbersome to use because it never seems to find a stable place to just hang w/out flopping around (almost like it's top heavy, but there is not extra weight there). The depth of the bag makes it difficult to get to stuff at the very bottom. The overall size and capacity are fine and I love all the pockets on the inside that are great for ipod, phone, and even my kindle, with plenty of room for my (large-ish) wallet. Would be nice to have an additional outside slip pocket, as suggested by another reviewer. Also agree that it does not make a good waist pack due to the shape (too long) and the fact that the adjustable strap doesn't cinch tight enough (which is a common problem w/ these adjustable strap bags, I've found...). Overall, an ok travel bag and fairly functional but not the be-all-end-all for every day use. I'm still looking for that perfect small bag/purse that I can use as a cross body bag normally but will convert to a waist pack when I'm on my bike...this is not that bag.

Comments about PacSafe Metrosafe Secure Shoulder Bag:
This is an excellent bag that I use everyday to carry: Phone, wallet, iPod, digital camera, business cards, 2 flash-drives, pen, sharpie, paper essentials, keys, change, pills, swiss-army-knife. This bag holds all my essentials safe and secure leaving my pockets empty and comfortable!
I've had three so far: one chocolate brown one that got quite dirty after 2 years so I upgraded to the black one to hide stains. After about 2 years one of the buckles came loose as described in other reviews. I did a quick fix with a small carabiner but just yesterday went a bought a new one. The new design FIXES THIS PROBLEM with a better mechanism (and some other nice features) so ignore the negative reviews previously posted.
One downside it the outer material will start to slowly get frayed with prolonged abrasion (2-3 years of everyday use).

Comments about PacSafe Metrosafe Secure Shoulder Bag:
I know this bag is sold as a security bag, but I didn't buy it for that reason. I needed something that would hold all my small electronics in one place (phone, iPod, camera), which it does quite well. Many international aiports make you take out all electronic devices in security, and place them in the scanning tub. This bag enables me to quickly do so, and replace them quickly after passing through the scanner. I also use it every day to hold these things, so they don't get misplaced. I've used this bag for over a year now, and am very satisfied. Since I keep it in a daypack, I don't use the security features, but if you need a central place for small electronics, like me, it works quite well.
