Comments about Cocoon Silk Mummy Liner:
This is the second silk cocoon that I have owned. The first one was replaced by the company after it ripped down the length along a seam. Unfortunately, though I loved this liner, the second one has also ripped at the main seam. I have used this as a liner on top of a sleeping pad, with a sleeping bag over top of me and my husband. He also has a separate liner. Both of us have had issues with durability. I have washed it carefully according to directions, line dried it, and have still had durability issues. It would definitely not last on a long length bicycle tour. It did not last a week on my recent tour.
I am disappointed since it is nice to be able to increase the warmth of our sleeping bag with a lightweight liner. We will be looking for something to replace this silk liner.

Comments about Cocoon Silk Mummy Liner:
I bought this for our first backpacking trip. We hiked 4 days of the Colorado Continnental Divide Trail. I bought my husband a coolmax liner, as he though the silk was too costly. Mine was half the weight, which I appreciated. I'm not sure it added 9 degrees of warmth, but it was great to have something between me and the sleeping bag. The drawstring was helpful during the cold nights. The stuff sack included is fairly easy to stuff, but I just packed my liner in my sleeping bag. We have since used our liners at places we don't trust the sheets, and for hot summer nights in the tent. The liner is easy to clean--I machine wash it and hang it to dry. It's plenty long enough and has enough room for my many sleep positions. I worry about staining it, since it's white, and I wish they made a couple's liner for snuggling.

Comments about Cocoon Silk Mummy Liner:
I was on the fence about this product, but I am very pleased to have it. I was worried it would be delicate, and my fears were misplaced. It's a durable and very light little liner.
I don't think I like the drawstring very much. It's anchored to one side so you can't pull the drawstring through, but the anchored side has a little tab so you can tie the pull-side to it. I find myself pulling on the anchored side a lot. The entire drawstring feature seems pretty useless to me anyway, since I am mainly interested in protecting my bag from me, not warmth.

Comments about Cocoon Silk Mummy Liner:
Used on AT section hike. Did not seem to add any warmth. Trying to supplement 1 pound ultralight bag (rated at 26 degrees-(another bogus spec). Good to preserve bag but I will not rely on it for any added comfort. Really had hoped it would work.

Comments about Cocoon Silk Mummy Liner:
The liner is one of the smallest and softest and adds more warmth than some of the bigger liners. It breaths and feels great whether its hot or cold out. It packs down VERY small and makes your bag warmer so it saves space that a warmer bag would require. Its much easier to hand wash after a trip than your whole sleeping bag, especially down bags. It is very durable for how thin and delicate they seem. The price is higher than some but it is good quality and works well for many years.

Comments about Cocoon Silk Mummy Liner:
I would buy this over and over again. I sleep with it in my bed at home! It is so comfortable. Make sure not to wash it with warm water, and especially dry cleaning, cause then it would feel like sleeping on fiber glass.

Comments about Cocoon Silk Mummy Liner:
I just bought this and tested it at home prior to a trip to Yellowstone, Morocco and the Sahara and believe it or not some of Florida's questionable hotel/motels. It was unbelievably soft and comfy, it kept out the air normally circulating around the body that keeps me cold in a New England winter even in my house. I am in love with this silk cocoon. It was not the least bit restrictive when sleeping, very soft to the skin and it is very small to pack with very little weight. This one is a winner! I am returning another cotton travel bag I bought at another store in favor of this one.

Comments about Cocoon Silk Mummy Liner:
I was looking for a replacement of the Cocoon summer bag, which is no longer made! But found this and it has since gone on many camping trips, both very cold situations and really hot. It works well to sleep in on top of regular bag when its 90* out!

Comments about Cocoon Silk Mummy Liner:
This is a great little liner - it's light, packs down to almost nothing, adds warmth, and keeps your sleeping bag cleaner. I've used this thing for 100+ nights over the last 4 years and it finally ripped around the edge of the "Cocoon" tag on the front. It went through the washer and dryer frequently, and it's still functional with the rip, just a little harder to use in the dark.
For something as delicate as silk, I'd consider it pretty durable. I carried this almost 1000 miles on a partial thru-hike of AT and would happily carry it again.
