Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 3 Sleeping Pad - Regular:
I have a four season expedition mattress and this one. They both have their place and both are greatly appreciated but this one should really only be used by those seriously looking to conserve weight.
For me it's great but they may well be a little too thin for some. A tip, get the womens. The length is mid way between the short and the regular and if you're carrying a mattress this thin then you're in conditions where having your head or feet off the end won't be an issue plus you're saving weight.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 3 Sleeping Pad - Regular:
The pad is well made and it was warm enough for a mid April AT backpacking trip. It is simply too thin for my tired old bones. Combining it with a partial foam pad helps but defeats the purpose. Sleeping well is more important than saving a few ounces. I am going to try a thicker pad this season.
The pad packs small but getting the air out of it and rolling it up can be a little time consuming.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 3 Sleeping Pad - Regular:
Used for a week on AT: weight and compact size were very beneficial, however, due to the thinness of the mattress and the fact I like to sleep on my side, my shoulders were sore every morning.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 3 Sleeping Pad - Regular:
This is my canoeing pad. I love it, it is so comfortable that i sleep like a baby. I have nothing bad to say about this thing. The only reason it doesn't go backpacking with me is because i am addicted to the ultralight game of ounce counting and carry a 3oz tiny piece of foam. This pad is a back saver!!

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 3 Sleeping Pad - Regular:
Great for backpacking as it weighs in at just over a pound. Also packs down to about 5"x11" Just enough padding to help keep in your body heat from the ground. Feels as though it could tear or fall apart easily, but haven't had and failures yet.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 3 Sleeping Pad - Regular:
The Pro 3 lite, is a great choice and provides just enough comfort in varying conditions.
I've used mine for car-camping, backpacking, and multi-day mountaineering trips.
I prefer the prolite 3 over the z-lite series since the weight savings is hardly noticable, and anything lighter would be uncomfortable. Also this pad is very compactable and packs wells.
Highly Recommended!!

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 3 Sleeping Pad - Regular:
When you can't sacrifice the space but need the warmth and comfort that a sleeping pad provides, it doesn't get any better than the prolite. Worth every penny, it packs super light without taking up much space either. About the size of a small oatmeal canister. it insulates you from the cold ground and provides some padding too. Dries fast, and even works when damp, its a must for those multiple night hikes.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 3 Sleeping Pad - Regular:
Whenever I've taken this thing out, everyone with me is jealous! It packs up really nice in my ruck and rolls out and inflates very easily, keeping me well insulated and very comfy all night long (the little they let me sleep in the field). It's great for all my personal trips too.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 3 Sleeping Pad - Regular:
For a long time I looked down my nose at inflatable mattresses/pads as bulky excess weight that was only lugged onto the trail by people who didn't know any better. About a year ago I tried the Prolite 3 for a weeklong excursion and became a convert. It's thin and reasonably compact, easy to inflate and roll up, and while it's still a little heavier than I would prefer, the difference between it and a regular closed-cell pad (which I've since retired) is noticable after a few nights on an extended hike. Even though I haven't had a puncture problem, I've been somewhat reluctant to put it to the same level of use/abuse as a regular pad, such as using it as a cushion while sitting on a rock. All things considered, this was worthwhile purchase.
