Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad - Large:
Don't be fooled by Thermarest's claims: you cannot repair this pad with any method. Once it has a hole - even a microscopic pin hole - it is about as useful as a deflated latex balloon.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad - Large:
I'm 6'6", so had little by way of choice when I wanted to upgrade from a Ridge Rest.
It is comfortable, but I think calling it a 4 season pad is stretching it.
A sil-nylon tent floor puts the lie to the claim that the bottom is non-slip.
I needed to repair it after only 9 nights of use, so be careful with it.
I don't like the fact that the stuff sack is not included for the price.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad - Large:
I love this pad! It's so small in storage (get a stuff sack though - it's way easier than tying it ect.) Major Con - I've already gotten three + punctures! I've patched one sucessfully for sure, but maybe two - it deflated during the night last trip, and on going to sleep on night to, a rock punctured A large hole - #3! So beware

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad - Large:
I'm 6'3, weigh 220 lbs and sleep comfortably on this. I wake up without any sore spots. This is the first pad I've slept this well on.
It's lightweight and packs into a small bag. The price is a bit high, but for me it's worth a good night's sleep.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad - Large:
I have several different types of sleeping pads due to my requirement in perfection of my camping gear. Out of the 4 types I have, this one is the best.
A bit heavier than some of the light weight ones, the ProLite makes up for in comfort. You could go with a smaller one but I tend to do a lot of winter trips and needed the large to keep me off the frozen ground better.
It self-inflates fairly well but you will have to put some air in it yourself unless you really like it soft or like that rock you missed when you set up your tent.
I recently used it on a trip from Yosemite Valley to Devil's Postpile and found myself on some rocky, not so flat ground, with snow still in some places.
It kept me from the cold well and I didn't have problems with slipping at all to my surprise and delight.
I did find that the nozzle tended to close off with every little rub on the tent when trying to roll it up in my solo tent which required me to stop and open it up again. Minor annoyance.
Overall, I found this to be a great pad with really no flaws so far.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad - Large:
I've used this product for almost a year now. I've used it in the back country and at houses where I've been a guest.
The sleeping pad packs up really well and it is amazing how well it can cushion when fully inflated. The good thing is that you can blow air or remove air to make it to the firmness you desire.
Somewhere I heard that this thing self-inflates. It may do that, but I don't have the patience to wait around for it, since I typically set it up and sleep within 10 minutes of setting it up. I always end up blowing air into it to get it to the right firmness.
I am 5'11" and I move around a lot when I sleep. I'
ve noticed that I end up either with my feet or my head hanging off the thing as it is tapered like a 'mummy'.
Overall this is a luxury for me, and I do take it on most trips, but could just as easily do without it. It is hard to find extra space on my pack to take a third 'roll'. (tent, sleeping bag and pad)

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad - Large:
This rolls small for an easy fit in your pack. I didn't like having to buy a stuff sack separately so I bought two straps and cinch it on both ends. Works perfect and a cheap alternative! My synthetic bag slips a bit on it, but it's wide enough at the shoulders, warm and comfortable.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad - Large:
great pad but if you have a new synthetic bag you will fall off it a few time... not a big down side considering it is extremely comfortable and resistant, light, warm, compact and good looking :)
one real low point, it is more expensive than similar pads.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad - Large:
First sleeping pad purchased and I figure why not go with the best out there. I am 6'3" so it fits height-wise, light, comfortable, durable, sleeps well, but would be a little nicer if it had custom padding like the womens version and be a little smaller rolled up. I am not an extreme hiker, more of a backpacker who car camps too, so take this with a grain of salt. Not sure if it is comparable pricewise with other pads out there, but for me, when it comes to camping, sleep is off the utmost importance, so why not spend good money here first.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad - Large:
An essential for comfort camping. Open air valve early to inflate, especially for the first time. Buy a pack/storage bag.
