Comments about Royal Robbins Cardiff Stretch Traveler Pants - Women's:
For the past 4 years (?) these are basically the only pants I buy. I have about 10 pairs in black, beige, bark, and I will buy the new brown available now at REI.
These pants fit beautifully. Though I think they look best on women who have a waist and a round derriere rather than a flat one. The stitching on the side is very flattering to this type of figure.
I wear these pants every single day for all my activities: pottery (the clay dust does not stick on the material), hiking, biking, going out with a casual or more dressy top.
They are ideal in hot and cold weather - I wore them in super hot super humid Costa Rica and even swam in them while my fellow hikers stripped to their underwear. They kept me cool after the dip and dried on me even with the high humidity. In the winter (in California or going to Europe) and sometimes in the evenings I wear long johns (from REi) underneath and voila - instant coziness.
They are of course perfect for traveling - no wrinkling, comfort making waist (wide setting in plane) and those useful ankle closures that prevent your pants from skimming the floor in airplane toilets.
They look good even after numerous wash but they will look even better if they are washed inside out at 30 degree and folded over a clothe hanger to dry (so that they do not stretch.).
Notice that there is a Regular and a Tall size.
These pants are the answer to smart packing, and to stress free dressing with style.
I hope they never stop making them.

Such a comfortable pair of pants - pack small, dry quickly, don't wrinkle. Fabric and style mean they can turn into Alaska-dressy by wearing a silky t-shirt or nice blouse. Perfect to wear on those long plane rides and being a tourist - good zipper pockets for $ and documents. I love my "bark" pair and am ordering a pair in black. Perhaps Royal Robbins will add other colors to their line.

These are great pants. Very comfortable for long airplane rides. They are not low cut and wash beautifully. They pack great. I already own both colors and wish they had more!

I bought these pants for hiking when I wanted to look a little better than being in remote areas and found they looked so good I used them on seveal long flights and found them to be VERY comfortable and still looking good at the end of the trip. They are now known as my airplane pants. I have recommended them to friends and they have been equally impressed. Cool, comfotable, dry quickly great casual travel pants.

I love these pants for hiking! What sets them apart is they have no elastic in the waist, and they are NOT low-rise. They are high-quality, well-fit pair of pants that are extremely comfortable.

I have three pairs of these pants and they are simply the best travel pants ever. In the field, they can get filthy; a quick wash in the sink and they are dry within hours. The black ones can be dressed up with a nice shirt and be worn for semi-dressy occasions if needed. These pants fit nicely and are well tailored with high quality fabric and craftsmanship. Check 'em out, travel goddesses!

I wear these pants every day all year round--wish there were more colors. I used to wear the convertible-various brands-but I've switched. I camp in the winter and wear long underwear underneath them. Having a yellow and black lab, the "teflon" quality allows me to play with them without being covered in hair. Perfect for travel and camping. They are comfortable, neat, and they don't wrinkle. I've washed them by hand at camp site and they dry quickly. MORE COLORS please! I hate to shop so it's great to order from the web and know I'm getting a quality product--but then, I've never experienced otherwise from REI in a store or on their site!

I wore these nearly every day on a trip to China, including the long flights. Hand washed them
and they dried in the sun within a few hours. Appreciated the classic look.

I had hoped to use these pants while on a month long trip in Europe, as well as at home. But the fit was not for me - too snug at the waist, too short of a rise, and a little too short for my legs. They fit but I looked stuffed, not sleek. Wish they would have worked as the fabric is great and would have been terrific for travel. Workmanship was nice.

Comments about Royal Robbins Cardiff Stretch Traveler Pants - Women's:
After reading all of the glowing reviews, I was disappointed with the appearance of the pants. They fit well and they're well made, but the fabric is a much shinier nylon than appears in the online images. I bought the black pants for a trip to Paris. Although I'm sure that they would be very comfortable on the long flight, I can't see myself wearing them around that particular city. I'd feel like I was the standout tourist showing up in a a pair of windbreaker pants. I plan to return them and settle for slightly rumpled but natural, or natural-looking, fabric.
