Comments about 98.6 Degrees - The Art of Keeping Your Ass Alive!:

I agree with EVERYTHING in the review that Yoven from St. Louis said. The only thing I would add is that it is an easy, understandable read for people who are not necessarily outdoor folks.
Makes a great gift for those people. After reading the book, my dad made up a basic kit that Cody discusses in the book for his and my mom's vehicles.

Comments about 98.6 Degrees - The Art of Keeping Your Ass Alive!:

I've read many books on survival but this one is by far my favorite and in my opinion, the best. It's not just a recycled military manual or assumes you've been dropped off in the Gobi Desert. The book is simple and straightforward...if you're not prepared and don't get rescued within 72 hours you're probably going to die. You won't learn how to kill a deer with your shoelace, but you will learn how to survive if you get lost and get found in the process. There are detailed gear lists and reasons why you need each item. If you're just going for a day hike or tackling the AT, you need to read this book.
