        We love that this bag is durable and doesn't LOOK like a diaper bag (dark neutral color). We also like the outside compartments (2 that hold bottles, a small mesh zipper pocket and another small zippered pouch on the end of the bag). What we DON'T care for is that the bag is like a giant "black hole" inside. I wish it had some inside compartments for bottles and small items. There are some elastics that are intended to hold bottles on the inside but they just don't work and the bottles slide out.

        The strap is also problematic as it is pretty narrow and does easily get twisted. And it is IMPOSSIBLE to zip up the bag with just one hand.

        Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

        The good news: REI chose dark, neutral colors for this diaper bag and carrier set. It's definitely NOT your cheesy, lions-and-puppies-and-duckies diaper bag. We like the obviously good construction and good use of space - you can get a lot of baby stuff in this thing and not feel weighed down with it. The exterior bottle carriers are a definite plus. Price is good, too - you definitely get a good value from this bag.

        On the negative side, the zippers are difficult to pull with one hand (a necessity when holding a squirming seven-month-old), the strap is far too narrow and twists far too easily, the pad ont he strap is well-cushioned but has a tendency to twist also, and there are no hand-carry handles, only the shoulder strap. If the next generation comes with these items it'll be worth four, maybe five stars.

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

          I have used this diaper bag for the past year, since my daughter was born, and will continue to use it! I was actually looking here to get a second one! My only complaint is that you cannot zip or unzip the main compartment with one hand (which is difficult when holding an infant). Other than that, I love it! It is very roomy and easy to carry. It has never felt too heavy on my shoulder and easily squishes down underneath my stroller. Plus, you can through it in the wash! Bonus!

          I received many diaper bags from my family & freinds...but only one of them ended up being used. This diaper bag was the easiest to pack-it held more than the conventional diaper bag and it was easy to access. This bag appears small, but it is made to hold a lot-I can fit 2 receiving blankets in it, diapers, wipes, several outfits, burp rags, shampoo, lotion, toys, bottle, and any other items that I might need. Awesome bag for the price and we loved it so much that we got 2! The zippers work great and nothing has ripped or come apart! I can't say the same for the other bags we had-they are now resting in the landfill.

          We use this bag every time we leave the house. I've also used in conjunction with the REI baby carrier backpack while hiking (which it's designed for) and we love it. It's the most roomy diaper bag we have (and we have several) so it fits everything you'd want to put in it. It also connects to the backpack flawlessly. I would buy a second if REI carried a different color. It easily straps on the handle bars of my BOB stroller and works great. The only drawback is that it only has the shoulder strap to carry it by (no handle). This can be difficult when you want to carry off your shoulder. This is really a minor drawback for us though.

            I love REI and was excited to find that they carry diaper bags. Like others I did not want the typical diaper bag. This one is perfect in color and style. My husband doesn't think twice about carrying it. Yes the strap is too thin and it is hard to close with one hand, but not impossible. I had read that before I bought it and have gotten a lot better at closing it with one hand now. Overall it carries a ton, I find I put too much in it. You'll see that you don't need to carry it with you all the time as your child gets older. I leave mine in the car and just grab a couple things usually when I'm out and about. I highly recommend this one. It's cheap too!
