      Great pair of long johns. Absolutely great to throw on under about anything and head out about anywhere. Wearing these under a pair of jeans I more than survived a Moscow winter and a few ski trips.

      Only con is that after 2 years I have developed a golden-dollar-sized hole in the crotch area and must buy another one. I will definitely buy another one, maybe the REI MTS wool ones this time.

      Definitely recommend these for some added warmth during for casual wear and travel.

        Finally, a good baselayer in a tall size, after years of ankle gaps and waist exposure. The MTS fabric is very comfy, feels almost like silk. It doesn't seem prone to pilling or pulling, although over time it develops a slight amount of fuzz.

        The lightweight seems about right for the colder part of shoulder season in the Whites, maybe 15 to freezing. Still comfortable if the day warms up; the breathability's very good.

        This has a good base layer fit (close but not constricting) if you order your street clothes size.

          I'm an outdoor professional and I were them there but my favorite use for these is in my home office! I'm saving money and carbon by layering and keeping my office at 62. After testing these against 4 other kinds for a year these are the best. Absolutely comfortable for all uses. I wanted to buy 3 more pairs and said "hell, they probably won't have them any more" but here they are. REI keeps the good stuff!

            These bottoms are a great base layer for any activity. I use them for skiing and winter hiking and they are great. Very warm and comfortable and the price isn't bad either.
