    I've had this shirt for about two years now, and it has been a steady companion. It is one of my favorite shirts to wear casually because it is so comfortable and it works great in cool weather. It dries very quickly and is very lightweight. The one complaint that I have about it is that it is not incredibly durable. This is great for wearing casually, but I would not recommend wearing it on a hike or other adventures into any sort of brush, it seems to want to snag on most anything. Mine has a number of loose threads on it, but nothing that prevents me from wearing it. All in all, a great shirt for casual wear or for adventures of the non-brush variety.

      Can't beat the product (50 UPF), or the price, for keeping SunSafe in the AZ desert...mock turtle neck gives nice neck protection, zip front let's you open up and cool down when the sun heads down...comparable specialty gear is twice the price. Take it from a 20-year skin cancer sufferer...if you're going out in the desert, this shirt rocks...

      Service and delivery comments:

      I don't understand why REI doesn't promote this product in the skin cancer capital of America...what are they thinking?!?! They don't even stock it in the local store...I had to order both of mine online...go figure...

        This shirt is only one feature away from true perfection - it only lacks odor inhibitors of some sort. However, it's THE shirt to wear for mountaineering endeavors as a sun block when the temperature up high soars but the sun is too bright to leave any skin exposed. It's stretchy enough to wear a little small and still has long enough sleeves with stretch to articulate well.

        As a red-head, I am sun-paranoid and have tried much sun-protection gear and lotions. I have three of this shirt, wearing it for cycling, tennis and golf. The turtleneck collar provides key protection for the neck. The shirt not only protects well, it is more light and comfortable than having nothing on, even in hot, humid weather. One improvement suggestion for REI: Make a hoodie version as well.

          For the kind of weather we get in the mountains near Los Angeles, for skiing and boarding, all I need is this and a softshell, a fleece, and a hardshell. This and one of the above almost always suffices. So my 12 y.o. daughter and I always reach for these before leaving the house, and it stays on til we get home. We've worn them all season (10 days so far) with washes between and they always come out well. Essential gear for snow adventure.
