    I would not recommend this product for either wet conditions or typical road riding. I used tri flow before clean ride and only switched because I thought I needed a heavier duty winter lubricant. Clean ride accomplished the opposite of its name; it built up over time as I applied it, collected dirt and started to leave a thick crud on my derailleur. Worst in my opinion is my chain became tacky and I could actually feel the added resistance in my ride. Maybe this stuff is good in dry, dirty or dusty conditions, but I say go for lighter, wet lubricants all-year like tri flow or prolink. I've gone back to tri flow, felt an immediate improvement (after using some pretty heavy duty degreaser to get the wax off).

      I am reviewing the Clean Ride lube.

      I want to share my opinions of White Lightning Clean Ride. I am a multi discipline competitive bike racer. I have used White Lightning products for fifteen years and really like the smooth new formula of Clean Ride. The wax integrates into the lube very smoothly. I use Clean Ride on my time trial bike, mountain bike, road bike, and cross bike. I like the clean application and thinner formula. The wax coats the chain evenly. I lube my chain during rides by carrying a 2oz bottle and usually re lube on the mid point of a three hour ride. I am in the middle of Cross season and have discovered that Clean Ride keeps my chain and drive train clean, even when the conditions are wet, very muddy and sandy. I Love this lube and have recommended this to our racing team and they use it religiously. Several of the veteran Elite racers have commented on the versatility of Clean Ride. Keep up the good work White Lightning!!

      I heard about White Lightning from a mountain biker. I tried it out and it is fantastic! I never get grease marks on my legs anymore. The lube works really good.

      I have biked for decades and found white lighting the best overall lube on the market for dry conditions. I love the fact that the chain is clean to the touch and the you don't have to clean dirty lube to add more white lighting.

        Field tested White Lightning on singletrack, rural bike commuting, and road riding for two years in dry, hot and cold (highveld) conditions in rural South Africa. If I could only have one kind of lube available, White Lightning would be it. Kept my drivetrain operable, even when the rest of the rig failed spectacularly. My only suggestion would be to wipe it down.

        i was told about this product by a friend that i go mountain biking with. it works exactly as claimed, and works great everytime, which is especially great in dusty conditions such as mountain biking.

          Don't bother. Other lubes are superior. Old ideas and technology. I found Dumonde Tech to be the best. I have used many others to come to that conclusion.
