    For years when a hat was required, I always went with wool and hated the scratchy, itchy feeling from that fiber. Last year, I decided to try the fleece alternative. Good news: this hat survived multiple Sierra storms and without the discomfort of wool. Bad news: after every wearing, this Mountain Hardware product was so stretched out that it required washing to get it back to the proper size.

        I own three. One goes everywhere with me in the winter. Get a lot of summer use when traveling in cooler climates (Canadian Rockies/Alaska. USeful and looks great. Keeps my short haired head warm.

          This Beanie is great because of its thinness, warmth, and fit. It can be folded in a jacket pocket without making you bulge, and is the perfect thing to whip out (stop heat loss) when it suddenly turns colder than expected. Mine doubles as extra padding for my Ipod while traveling.

              This hat is amazing. I have a weird shaped head and the stretch fabric makes it fit perfectly. I have worn this hat in freezing weather and it is more than warm enough. because of its close fit it can be used as a base layer under a thicker hat. This hat weighs less than an ounce and is all you need for warmer than freezing weather. Also this hat dries extremely fast and insulates when wet.
