Great but it does have a strong honey taste
It is sweet, but it does give me the energy to climb the last 2 miles of my ride on my racing bike. Physiologically your cells burn sugars, everything else (like carbohydrates) must first be broken down to sugars first. The gels during my rides have stopped my thigh muscles cramping up during my 14 mile racing bike mountain canyon climb. As I said, it is very honey sweet, but it does give me the energy to keep climbing. Oh, I am not one of those muscle buff guys, I am 75 yrs. old trying to stay in shape without running, my knees grounded me from running 25 years ago

Like swallowing honey

As an energy boost, this gel worked fine. No complaints about that, and this is mainly the reason for my "bottom line". However, I have to say that out of all the gels I've tried (about 5 different ones), this one was the toughest to swallow. It seemed really thick, and it felt like it never made it past my throat. I had that feeling and a not-so-great aftertaste for a few miles later. This was even after I took a few more chugs of water. I didn't have that problem with any of the other gels. I did love the honey idea, so I was disappointed that I didn't like it more. Try it out, what works for me (or didn't work) doesn't have to be the same for you.

Good Fuel for Running

The consistency is thinner than GU or other fuels I have had in the past. I view this as good as it goes down easier. This one tastes just like honey which familar taste is good. It seemed a little strong, but was good. It seemed to give me what I needed on my long runs. I have bought this twice now trying different fuels that work. This did not upset my stomach as other fuels have. The only drawback, which is a drawback for most gel containers is the tab tear-off. I don't like having to worry about two pieces falling to the ground.

All Natural Version of Gu

I have a sensitive stomach, and a few years ago when I started training for my first marathon, I tried all different kinds of Gu to keep me going during long runs. They all made my stomach upset, and I didn't know how I was going to get through training, until I discovered Honey Stinger. It's an all-natural version of Gu, and it was the only energy gel I could consume before and during my runs that kept me energized without upsetting my stomach.

Very easy

I had not used gels/gu/etc. in my training, then thought I could get used to them in the weeks prior to "the long race" of the year. Bad idea. GU was too thick and strong, gummies were too cumbersome...stinger was just right. Went down smooth and easy. I still like the taste better than the alternatives. Highly recommended if you need nutrition for a race but haven't properly (months in advance) trained with it!

Works as advertised, but VERY sweet.

Good, effective run nutrition, at least in the context where I used it. The packets themselves are a little larger than most other gels I've used, but that's largely a non-issue, just something to be aware of. The biggest thing I made note of was how incredibly sweet the gel is. It's considerably sweeter than other gels I've used, even more so than the other Honey Stinger gels I tried. On account of that I'll probably not be purchasing any more of these, but you have to try it before you know if it'll work for you.

Helps Type-1 Athlete with Success and Safety

My daughter is a Type-1 diabetic who participates in travel sports. Being able to get a good source of carb energy quickly, and without relying on sugary drinks or candy the upset her stomach, is important not only for performance but also her health. The Honey Stringer really fits the bill when her blood sugar is running low, she’s work hard, and needs something with a bit more kick. It also really allows us (with some other products) to manage fluid intake, electrolytes and blood sugar independently when needed, which I feel important for her success and safety. Highly recommend.

Tasty

I have never tried energy gels or performance snacks before. I went on a backpacking trip for the first time in over 10 years. These energy gels saved me! I didn’t think I was going to make it up the mountain to camp but after 2 of these I finished the hike and had energy to spare to set up camp. I will be buying many many more of these for all my hiking and backpacking trips. My boyfriend also loves them for mountain biking. They taste just like honey.

Great Product

I've been running with gu for the last few years and I find that all the sugar just sits in my belly all day after a long run. I picked up a strawberry and gold gel pack while I was at REI yesterday and headed out for a 17 mile run this morning. While the gel was a little sweet, it was much easier to swallow and didn't reside in my belly making me feel nauseous for the rest of the day. I felt really great my entire run (took the strawberry with caffeine around mile 6 and the gold around mile 12). I would recommend this product to other runners!

Decent Honey Flavor

I'll be honest, I don't really like energy gel packets - I don't know many people who LOVE them - but I find these to be on the more tolerable end. The honey flavor is strong, they don't just taste like chemicals, and they go down easy while providing a nice glucose boost. I used these on a 35 mile elevated bike ride and they helped me power through.
