I'm in the always-below-freezing city of Chicago and walk a mile to school and back everyday. These long underwear have proved the most comfortable to wear, with a nice wide waistband that is well positioned and rolls easily if you want it lower, and the bottoms go clear to your ankle. I have other kinds of longjohns, but they always have waists clear up above my navel and end mid-shin, which to me is NOT ideal. These work perfect, keeping me warm as I walk in the snow and yet not too hot while sitting inside heated buildings for classes. They're not even too warm to wear under workout pants in dance class. They handwash well and dry quickly for constant rewear, and though they snag easily they seem to be holding up well. If I could I'd buy a pair for everyday of the week.

Used this product during a NOLS course on the river travel section. Kept me warm even when wet without weighing my down. However, they snagged on EVERYTHING, the kayak, raft, trees, grass, you name it, it got stuck.

I first bought these for a trip to Sweden for extra warmth. They were perfect. I didn't expect to use them on a regular basis but I find the extra layer is non-cumbersome and adds just the warmth I need in cold and windy midwestern winters without bulk that would bind my movements.

I wore these snowboarding one day and they tore, they didn't even snag on anything the just got a run in them. So for one time use they were ok, but I wouldn't recommend them if you are active. Maybe for walking or around the house.
