Wore them for a photo shoot of the Birkie race in Northern WI, all day from 4am - 9pm. My feet were never cold, it was -8 F with the wind, and I was standing out on a frozen lake for 1/4 of the time. or in snow the remainder.

Comments about The North Face Baltoro HV 400 Boots - Men's:

The product was good for the hike in...light, comfortable, but once the sun went down and the temperature dropped the boots did not keep my feet warm. I would suggest wearing regular waterproof hiking boots with some good socks rather than spend the money on these boots. The temperature I wore them in was only -10 and my feet were cold.

Love these boots. Have strapped them into my Lightning Ascent showshoes a few times this winter. They are incredibly comfortable and my feet have not been cold in the least. I would highly recommend them for these types of use.

Comments about The North Face Baltoro HV 400 Boots - Men's:

I find the boot to be very comfortable and true to size. My feet slide right in and they are easy to lace-up and my feet do not slide around when I walk, which is my main use for this boot, walking or watching my kids sled. It has been extremely cold this winter in Minnesota, as low as -30 with the wind (not that I am spending that much time outside when it is -30) and my feet have never been cold. Great Product!

Comments about The North Face Baltoro HV 400 Boots - Men's:

Alright...I don't think they'll keep you warm at -40 degrees...but seriously, how many of you will be walking around outside when it's -40???

I snowshoed in these boots for the first time a couple of weekends ago, and they did great! Ambient temp was between -5 and 5 degrees during the trip and my feet were warm the whole time. The primaloft fill is great for managing temperature!

My only complaint on this boot is that it's a little bulky in the forefoot area. If you have relatively thin ankles, you may have to really belt these things down...or if all else fails, wear a heavier sock.

              Enjoy!

Use these boots on a daily basis. Keep my feet warm, dry and comfortable. Would definitely buy these again. My only concern is how well the plastic lace hooks (at the top of the boot) will hold up over time but so far no problems.

These boots are great for easy trips in moderately cool weather (great for walking the dog). However, they are nowhere near the -40 comfort rating. Bottom line: comfortable boot, but not in really cold weather.
