Comments about Seattle Sports Paddle Leash:
Clip broke off on mine, like the others. I did manage to twist the coils around a loop on my kayak to secure it to the boat, but would be better with a clip...

Comments about Seattle Sports Paddle Leash:
After a season's good luck with one of these I bought a second for my other kayak and its paddle, only to have them BOTH break identically at the clip-buckle. Problem is that the small plastic buckle used is too weak, breaking at the same molded leg. A larger buckle might be more cumbersome. Solution would be a tougher buckle, perhaps aluminum or stronger plastic.
Broken items returned to SS for replacement, but they refused to replace EITHER one because of a naive claim that "these don't fail".
Northwater's coiled leash is unfortunately too heavy, but their NON-coiled one is both lightweight AND much sturdier than Seattle Sport's.
I've always suspect of SS's products as they're hit-or-miss with durability: some are fine, some really cheaply made, like this coiled tether.

Comments about Seattle Sports Paddle Leash:
This product does work as a paddle leash, however the plastic coating on the cable has a short life span. Without the coating intact the cable unravels.

I have 5 of these and have not had any problems. I also use them surfing small east coast waves and they've worked well.

Comments about Seattle Sports Paddle Leash:
This thing fell apart after a couple of tugs. I bought two of them and you could tell that the material on one was newer than the other...the older looking one is the one that had the cord fall apart. It may be sun exposure or something. I may replace the cord like the other person as the buckling system is pretty good.

Comments about Seattle Sports Paddle Leash:
The first time I streched the leash out the coating that created the coil disintegrated leaving me with a string of individual strands that got tangled in everything. I liked the buckles so I took it all apart and put the buckles on a stretch cord. Now I'm happy!

Comments about Seattle Sports Paddle Leash:
Great for the beginners not having to worry about finding the paddle when they have over turned. Places everyone at ease to have one less thing to be concerned with.
