Comments about Asolo TPS 535 Hiking Boots - Men's:
I bought the TPS 535 after returning the TPS 520 (gore tex) for being way too hot. I debated about gore tex/no gore tex for a while, and went with the gore tex 520s based on previous ownership of gore tex boots. I made the wrong decision with the 520s. My feet were hot and really sweaty after wearing them in 80-90 degree weather (SF bay area) After exchanging them for these boots (535s) My feet felt great. they could breathe, they had great ankle and arch support, and great traction. I hiked all around Death Valley and experienced comfort, traction, and support. I have worn these boots almost everyday since I bought them, rain and shine, and they have been great. I LOVE THESE BOOTS!!

Comments about Asolo TPS 535 Hiking Boots - Men's:
Read favorable reviews and decided to try the 535s. Excellent boots. I have worn leather hiking boots for 30 years, including Galibier, Lowa, Garmont, Meindl and Vasque. These fit my feet perfectly and are the best of the best. I have a 12B low volume foot. The 535s lace perfectly around my foot and are comfortable without slippage. I would guess that this boot would be too narrow for a wide, high volume foot, but that is not reflected in the other reviews. The tongue and lacing system are perfectly engineered allowing a uniform, comfortable closure over the forefoot. I lace the boots rather loosely at the ankle for comfort; the heel stays put. The unique last allows the foot to 'rock' forward with minimal sole flex - something you must feel to appreciate. In this day and age of disposable boots that could double as a coffee filter, I can't say enough about the quality of this all leather boot. Leather, stitching, gluing and design all appear to be perfect. Also, it is important to me that when I need another pair of 535s, Asolo will still make them and the quality and fit will still be the same.

I got these boots for a 30 day NOLS course last summer. They felt broken in after only a few short day hikes. At the end of the course, people with Asolo boots like mine had intact boots. Other brands of boots seemed to wear out after a month in the backcountry. Since then, I've worn them snowshoeing, and on all kinds of terrain. Great support and traction.

I love them. I walked around in them for about a week to break them in, and then I did a nice long hike with a full pack on, on 10-20 degree grades in the snow. Comfortable is an understatement.

Comments about Asolo TPS 535 Hiking Boots - Men's:
I am glad that I spent the extra money on a nice pair of boots. My current pair is about a year old and has seen about 300 miles of back county hiking and snow shoeing and their still in great shape. With wool socks, with silk underneath my feet have been blister free and very comfortable. They are difficult to run in, if you want to make it down the mountain quickly.

Comments about Asolo TPS 535 Hiking Boots - Men's:
As far as the name brand of Asolo goes, I don't think you can beat it. Being out on the trail other hikers are checking out your gear...what works for you; what works for them. It's these conversations that keeps us pressing through the blisters to the next camp site. Speaking of blisters, I took these Asolo's, (my first pair of Asolo's), on their maiden voyage to Glacier National Park, for 6 days of Backcountry Backpacking. On day 2, the blisters finally broke open, and the boots were way more comfortable for the next 4 days. However, beyond the blisters on the backs of my heels and inbetween my toes, what I was most suprised about, were the sores I was getting around my ankles from the rubbing of the boot-tongue. They weren't blisters, rather a scab was just forming. I found moleskin to work best at preventing more scabs around the ankles. As far as the blisters go... I went on a follow up 2 day hike the weekend after getting home from Glacier; and found that there wasn't any further blistering. So, maybe it's the hazing my feet had to take, being the first time in an Asolo.
Oh! And I wore the boots everyday, breaking them in, for 4 months before going to GNP; I didn't have any problems during this time. I would recommend packing camping shoes/sandals to give your feet a rest at the end of the day. I found that my favorite part of the day was getting to camp, and taking off my shoes! Different feet react differently, so beyond my first experience in the boots, I would still recommend to a friend.

Comments about Asolo TPS 535 Hiking Boots - Men's:
This is my third pair of Asolos over many years. I used to suffer blisters in every brand that I tried (including my first Asolos, but they were Yukons and too stiff and heavy for my needs) but these boots are wonderful. It's hard to believe that a boot this strong and supportive is some comfortable. I never carry camp shoes when backpacking. I just loosen the laces a bit when around camp.

Comments about Asolo TPS 535 Hiking Boots - Men's:
I wear these boots 10-12 hours a day as a UPS driver. They are very comfortable and provide excellent support. What I like most is Asolo doesn't get caught up in all the fancy new designs each year. When I need a new pair, I know that exact pair is available to me. It used to be I would fall in love with a boot only to find out it was discontinued for some new design. Not Asolo, I have about 6 pairs over the last 8 years of the same exact boot.

Comments about Asolo TPS 535 Hiking Boots - Men's:
I've had two different pairs of Asolo boots before these, and these are the best of the bunch. I had thought my Asolo Poseidons were the best but after I wore them out, I went for the TPS 535's and they are even better. There's no need for Gore-Tex with the quality of leather used here, as long as you use a good boot sealer. These boots have been all over the Sierras, Trinity Alps, Marble Mountains, Lost Coast and red rock country in Utah. They have been through heat, rain, snow and salt, and are holding up great. I just hope Asolo continues to produce these boots!
