Comments about Asolo TPS 520 GV Hiking Boots - Women's:
Because the price of the boots initially scared me, I waited nearly to the last minute to buy before our hike in the Grand Canyon. That being said, I wore them a few days around home as much as possible. They fit like a glove from the get-go. While hiking the canyon I wore them for 8 hours one day and 10 the next and have no complaints what-so-ever. While heavier and hotter than the boots I usually wear on other hikes, I was prepared for that and it wasn't an issue. My only wee complaint is that the laces coming untied periodically were a slight nuisance. You can just tell these babies are meant and constructed to last. I look forward to many years of hiking together.

Very comfortable boots. Off an on wearing for about 2 weeks before over 20 miles of hiking (rocks, snow, mud, up and down mountain sides) No pain in my feet, had good traction, kept feet warm and dry. Purchase 1/2 size larger than I wear as suggested. The fit was great.

I absolutely love these boots. It really doesn't get better than this. They are true to size so remember to get a size or half size bigger if you are going to be wearing thick wool socks or the liner and wool socks. I had to and they fit wonderfully! They are so far holding up well and do take a longer break in but are totally worth it. Well worth the money!

I bought these to replace a pair of Vasques that I had used that just never really fit right. I was looking for ankle support that would not bind and I found it in this pair of boots. They are pricey but well worth it: no pain!

Comments about Asolo TPS 520 GV Hiking Boots - Women's:
I have had these Asolo boots for more than 5 years and thought it was time I wrote a review about them. They still are in great shape even though I am hard on my boots. I've climbed 14ers, backpacked, day hiked on easy to difficult trails, snowshoed in them, and even wear them on snowy days in Denver. There's no break-in time with them. They are easy to lace-up. I never get blisters in them and there's great support. My feet are average width and have an average arch. I know these are more expensive than other boots but they are worth it! If you plan to snowshoe in them I would suggest also wearing toe warmers because they do not stay super warm.

Bought these at the REI Denver. Best hiking boots I've ever had. I hiked Mt. Lindsey the next day - they were super comfortable and no break-in was needed. I also hiked Mt of the Holy Cross two days later and through all of that, not one blister. They had awesome ankle support - I felt secure bouldering and in scree. Also, my toes never hit in the toe box during hiking. The toe-box is build really well. They didn't slip as I hiked, they stayed snug - I wore a liner and a light wool sock with it. Overall, I'd highly recommend these boots. They cost more than some others but are well worth it!!

These boots are the first pair of good leather hiking boots I have owned. I tried on a lot of different pairs and found these to be the most comfortable and best suited to my needs.
I wore these on a 5 day trek on the West Coast of BC after only minimal break in and they were great, no blisters. I did find that the foot bed was quite hard and this might be improved with a thin insole. I will try that next hike. The boots were entirely waterproof and warm.

Comments about Asolo TPS 520 GV Hiking Boots - Women's:
These boots came highly recommened as I was training for a long distance backpacking trip. I got them six months early to begin the break in process. They left my feet crippled with bloody blisters. I tried everything to make these boots work for me, but have never worn shoes that hurt/destoryed my feet like these. On the trip another participant had the same boots- and the EXACT same thing happened and ruined the trip for him. Luckily REI has an amazing return policy and took the boots back no questions asked. I was so thankful that I had bought a different pair of boots in time or I would have had a much different experience on the trip. Bottom line: terrible boots, excellent return policy from REI.

Comments about Asolo TPS 520 GV Hiking Boots - Women's:
I am a 63-year-old male, 185 lbs., with very narrow feet. Women's sizes fit best and I am very pleased with the fit of this boot (REI staff in Dallas were very helpful in determining correct size). I ordinarily wear a women's 10, but had to go to an 11 to get enough length in this boot. It is very comfortable and break-in has not been difficult. I have not done any long hikes in it--primarily have done short scrambles on very rough, rocky terrain in western Colorado. These boots have great traction and ankle support while not being too heavy--they are lighter than my last pair of heavy-duty boots, which were Raichles that lasted 20 years with maintenance. I am impressed with the quality of this boot. It cleaned up very well and the surface appears to be quite durable. Lacing is a little difficult, particularly when using the wrapped lace technique that the REI folks showed me, but one in place they hold well. I would not hesitate to wear these boots for an extended trip with a heavy pack.
Service and delivery comments:
I purchased these boots at the REI store in Dallas. The REI staff there could not have been more helpful--very knowledgeable and patient!
