Comments about Bear Attacks - Their Causes and Avoidance:

My wife and I are going to Glacier NP for 2 weeks of hiking in 9/09 and are really concerned about being as safe as possible in grizzly country.

I just finished reading this book and feel that although I have 50+ years of hiking/mountaineering experience (but none in grizzly country), my understanding of the causes of grizzly/black bear attacks and their avoidance has increased immensely.

I will feel a lot better hiking on their turf now that I have become aware of the whys, dos and don'ts.
