This cooler is the best I've ever had. The 5day cooler truly and realistically keeps food and drink cold. I had not had it out for more than 4 days, but the 4 full days I had it out it kept the ICE still in tack. The temp in the day was 88 and at night it fell to 75 while sleeping. This was a camping trip and we were very very surprised it lived up to it's expectations. because of the size, I would say that this cooler is just too much for day trips, unless you need the room for alot of food inside and a big family.

I bought the Coleman Extreme (62 g) cooler whicher is larger than the one pictured. I bought this for car camping trips(California weather, 70s in the day and 50s in evening). The cooler worked very well. I put in two blocks of ice for a 3 day trip and when I returned home the ice had melted a little bit, but were still intact blocks of ice. Everything was cold. I was suprised since we were robbed of food from this chest in the middle of the night on the first day, and the theft did not close the lid properly (it was adjar). I would high recommended this cooler. I bought the big version since it would work well as a storage container for my camping gear, it can acts as a seat for camping trips, it works well as a container for ice/bottled drinks at a party,and because it stores a good amount of food for lengthy trips.

This cooler is the smallest 5 day cooler Coleman makes. It is durable and worth every penny. I bought it bacause the larger models don't fit in my care trunk. On a 4 day trip it worked as advertised.

Got this for a week long camping trip, tired of lesser coolers that required adding ice every day. It served as our food refrigerator for the week. Started with a 1+ gallon block of ice and added partial bags 3 times when we replenished the smaller drink cooler. There was a small remnant of the original block left after 7 days. Temps in the 80s and it stayed in the car, occasionally hot as we were out and about.

For the original ice block, we used a plastic 20 oz. cereal container and froze it before the trip. Fits like a glove in the cooler--side to side and top to bottom. Maximizes use of space, contains melt water, and can work as a divider too. As the block melted, just dumped cubes into it (as many as would fit).

You do need to make sure the lid is fully closed. I would just hit it when I closed it, but others left it a little cracked a few times.

No doubt it will get lots of good use.

I have used this cooler a couple of times and it is by far the best I have used. It holds ice for at least 5 days with just slight melting. When out in the 90 degree weather or so you might have to consider adding a bag of ice and draining every day and a half. Great cooler for weekends of fishing when you harvest fish every day throughout the weekend.

I pack frozen fish to take to Japan from Alaska. Fish was kept cold when it arrived after 5 days.
Frm what I use this cooler, I really don't think the beverage holders are necessary.

While I don't own this product I was with a group in Yosemite Vally that had one. The ice lasted 7 days with a little added to top it off on day 4. The box fit in the bear boxes of North Pines and left plenty of room for another plus some. The ice box I used had to have ice added 3 times and I wished I had purchased this one.

We did puncture it on day 5 trying to brake up the ice that clumped together so the interior could of been made stronger. Of course what cooler can withstand an ice pick...LOL

This cooler is great because it keeps things remarkable cold. Ice didn't melt for 3 days! Cleans easily. The cup holders on top are convenient in the boat. It's not a very large cooler, though, so is only for day trips or short trips. I also miss wheels.

Keeps food cold. Big chunks of ice lasted us 4 days in Joshua Tree! It also becomes a relatively comfortable extra seat when a few extra friends show up at the campsite.
