I wanted some sturdy hard wearing shoes for my 2 year old. I bought these in the dark pink color. Almost immediately I noticed how quickly these shoes scuff up. 3 days after general wear and they looked old. Now 4 months later the shoes look as if they had endured a 5 year trek in the Himilayas. They are completely worn out and faded to a light dirty gray pink. These where just playground and around town shoes, not puddle jumpers or mud shoes, they didn't hold up for such a pricey shoe. Plus there is some hard plastic around the side of the heels, somehow this has bent down pinching in on my daughters ankles. Our [...] shoes have held up much better than these. Perhaps if these where leather instead of suede they would have held up better. The soles of the shoe are great, everything else is sub par.

Excellent shoe & great value. Wears well & looks great. I sprayed them with waterproofing & it added to the water resistance - good for typical NW conditions. My daughter loved these shoes & easily put them on herself, but the fit is snug enough that they can't be kicked off. I'll be handing them down to her little brother.

The only shoes my son has ever worn since he started walking. Nice flexible sole, but not flimsy. Easy on and off. Comfortable fit. Removable insert so you can check to see how the length is for your child's foot to eliminate guessing if there's room to grow or if you need to go up a size. Love them. Worth every penny. Bless Merrell for making such a great children's shoe! Spray on water-resistant stuff and you're good to go! (Also, they stay looking great and in my opinion would be a nice shoe to hand down to the next little one)
