Comments about Seattle Sports Bilge Pump with Float:

Same as other users: it worked fine first, but after a couple of trials started sticking. I've used other paddlers' pumps and they slide much easier than this one ever did.

Comments about Seattle Sports Bilge Pump with Float:

I don't recommend this product if you ever have to pump more than a gallon. After about thirty pumps you'll regret tossing your bailing bucket in the trash can.

If you're pumping high volume, i.e. whitewater canoeing, get a pump with a larger intake and output valve.

Comments about Seattle Sports Bilge Pump with Float:

I've used this pump for several years and never had a problem with it. One of the other reviewers was right, it does make an excellent water canon.

Comments about Seattle Sports Bilge Pump with Float:

Worked fine in the beginning. After my kids played with it (read sand got into it) I tried everything to clean it. It is still hardly moving at all. Can not dissemble it because the whole thing is glued. Not sure if I will keep it.

Comments about Seattle Sports Bilge Pump with Float:

Having taken a kayaking class where we had to swamp the boat for practice, I knew I had to have one of these. I've tested it in the bathtub, but haven't yet had an occasion to use it on the Bay. I've had it a year, and taken it out on every trip on the water; it still works great (in the bathtub).
                Other things I like:
                • the style of the handle -- I can put a clip/tether on it so it doesn't float away from the boat if it swamps. Some other pumps have a flat handle and no place to attach a tether.
                • Bright yellow color really stands out in the water
Does it really pump 8 gallons per minute? Not sure -- that depends on your speed and strength!
