    This paper is terrific! It really is waterproof! Your maps will be readable after a pouring down rain or even a dunking in the river. In fact, we lost one of these maps in the rapids of a river and we could still read it as it lay on the bottom of the river. The paper also won't rip or tear as you go on your adventures and stuff it in your pack. It takes a beating and keeps going. The maps are very readable on this paper. Depending on your printer the ink may bleed through to the other side but this only matters if you wanted to print double sided. On my printer only the yellow bleeds through so I am able to print two maps on one piece of paper allowing me to print a general overview of the area on one side and a detailed map of our trail on the other. I highly recommend this paper. I've used both the regular size and the longer legal size. Get a map program, get this paper, and get out there and have fun!

      This "paper" is great stuff. I was VERY skeptical, but it just works. It is really more of a plastic/rubber than paper. If you pull on it to try to tear it, it just stretches a bit instead.

      I use an HP Deskjet 940c - nothing fancy with real HP ink. Set the prefs to best quality, other inkjet paper, regular ink volume, and ~66% drying time. I use it to print USGS quadrangle topo maps from the free PDFs you get download from USGS.

      I can run the paper under the faucet for several minutes with zero degradation of quality. Amazing stuff. I'm going to use it for my decompression schedules when scuba diving.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
