The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI Schwag Pockets - Pair:
I attach these pockets to my hammock ridgeline (inside bugnet) to give me a place to easily stow and access things like my headlamp, phone, and water bottle. These work great and are light weight. The clips are plastic and while I haven't had any issues, I'm sure they'll break one day. I might consider replacing them with some s-biners or something, but really this is the only issue I can think of.
Hammock camping is great, but losing your headlamp somewhere between your sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and balled up hoodie your using as a pillow is a pain, this is the simple/cheap solution!

There's not a whole heck of a lot to really say since the product description pretty much says it all. These are great for keeping things off the ground, like glasses, small flashlight (I use the Joby Gorilla light which is pretty solid), extra carabiners and the like. I just wish the clip that's on it was a little bit bigger. Other than that I'm totally pleased and think it's another great REI product. Kudos!

I love ditty sacks! This little pocket is my latest find and I am so glad I have found it in my local REI.
What I use them for:
1. obviously inside my solo tent. My tent has two mesh pockets by the door but they are not deep or big. This pocket clips into the ribbon loop in my tent ceiling easily and a perfect size for small items and emptied stuff sacks.
2. i took them to the hostels to be used as a shower caddy. i use a Nite Ize #3 S hook (use the ring part, not the clip part; more secure) so that it can be hung under shower head/door or wall hook etc.. The bag is light weight and dries fast therefore perfect for showing.
3. i clip it to my daypack/backpack's waist belt the same way (Nite Ize thru the ring part) and put sunscreen, energy bars, lip balm, freshette, gloves, beanie, small clothing items inside. the top is open therefore if you must run/jog, cover the top with one hand while doing it.
4. it can be attached to a lanyard and hang around your chest (not a fashionable look I know).
5. it can be carabinered to the seatback during bus ride, flight, train ride to catch ipod, snack, water bottle, essentials, etc.
6. it can be hooked/carabinered to the inside of your handbag/tote/daypack/shopper as a catch-all for small items like lipstick, tubes of lotion/hand sanitizer, wet wipes packets, pen, etc.
Can you think of or do you know more ways to use this little pocket? Share it here!

Comments about REI Schwag Pockets - Pair:
I bought these because my backpack has no external pockets so I thought they'd be good for carrying stuff that I need to have at hand--camera or dog treats or a water bottle. They're pretty much what you see in the picture, but beware of two things: 1) that tiny little plastic clip is actually hard to clip over anything on the exterior of a backpack; and 2) there's no way to draw the top tight. At one point during my backpacking trip, I ran a bit to catch up with some people and what I had stored in the bag popped out and was lost forever. It would be great if they re-designed these so you could pull the cinch the top tight, and also made the plastic hook you use to attach it larger.
p.s. I don't know what they mean by "poor fly design", but "poor design" fits.

These pockets are perfect for 1 person tents. My tent only has one mesh pocket, and I can hang two of these to hold my camera, knife, glasses, etc. Also, I just leave them in the tent and pack it up. They weigh nothing and are very flat and compact. Will buy for for the kids tent.

Perfect in my minitrailer for holding all the little stuff that I want easy access to--like keys, phone, toothbrush, and eyeglasses--or a beer.

These are just what the Dr ordered!
Just big enough to hold all those pesky items that end up littering the tent floor or, worse, lost under a pile of stuff or under the wet-ish tent rag in the corner...
These are a very well designed and executed product. They are small enough to not weigh much (come on, how much is a half ounce anyways?) but large enough to be useful.
They are small enough to discourage putting overly heavy or dense objects in them (which could turn into head-smackers during those 0-dark-thirty trips to inspect the camp perimeter), but large enough to hold headlamps or a pinchlight, perhaps some TP, glasses, etc.
As someone else noted the clips are pretty small, however for typical use (clipping to the clothesline/loft loops in tent interiors) they are fine.
I bought a pair and have left them permanently hung in my Big Agnes Copper Spur 3. I just set up the tent and there they are, complete with the last two trips' worth of late-night power bar wrappers crumpled up in them. Ahhh... Home sweet home!
Oh, and my chihuahua thinks they're the bomb! When she first saw one, she went after it like a squeeky plush toy! I think she needs counseling or a different cell phone or something...

these are so handy for in the tent and around camp -- no more digging around for my glasses in the morning. Outside the tent, a very convenient place to store small items like keys and cell phone (uggh!) and you can just clip it to the side of a camp chair

These pockets are wonderful! I have a Big Agnes Big House tent and all of the pockets are down low. Great for the kids stuff, not so great for things I don't want my toddler into, like my glasses. I actually discovered there was a lot mroe stuff I wanted to keep out of his reach and quickly filled both pockets up. I will be getting more of these.

This is a great product! We own the REI Basecamp 6 that comes with many hanging loops that these pockets are perfect for. They keep items off the floor and are great for drinks that you don't have to worry about knocking over and spilling in your tent. Currently I have four and I am going to pick up two more to make me even more organized!
