I have these on all of my bikes. I've tried lots of tires and I find these are the best compromise between speed, durability and puncture resistance. They're more expensive than others, but I only have to replace them after a year or 18 months instead of 6 months like other tires.

After multiple flats on an older 23c tire, I decided it was time to move all of tires over to Gatorskins. I ride 25c wire beads on my commuter and 23c foldable on my racing bike.

If you're riding in the city, I would highly recommend Gatorskins. Of the 3 tires I've had in the last 2 years, Gatorskins are by far the best option for city riding. The puncture resistance is optimal and will save you time and money in the long run (having to buy new tubes, being late to work because of flat, etc)

Great rugged tires. Don't have to worry as much about punctures when using these tires. Found there is a bit of a rolling resistance, but that just aids training!

Rode across the US last summer with these tires. 3 flats. 2 if I had been able to see the nail. Hot weather, cold weather, bad roads, good roads these tires are fantastic. Nearing 4000 miles so I'm picking up a new pair whenever the old ones decide to die.

I needed a good tire for use on my 29er rim while on a stationary trainer. I bought the 700x32 size and it has worked beautifully. Funny thing, though. I asked an REI employee from the bike dept. if it would work and he said no. "700 and 29er are two totally different sizes." Apparently not.

I am an Avis road cyclist. I gave my old road bike (a Basso) to my son. He does not own a car and uses the bike as his primary mode of transport, along with mass transportation. I wanted him to have good tires so I asked a techie what the best tire would be. He said these, bar none. While they are expensive, they are well worth it. He road his first set for a year in an urban environment, in all weather. No flats at all, despite cuts, glass, etc. He loves them; so he got a new set for Christmas.

This tyre is great for its intended purpose. I've been commuting on them for a couple years without any trouble. These tyres are faultless so long as one keeps rubber composition in mind.

The rubber on these tyres is very hard. That density is what provides much of the flat protection found in these tyres. It is also the reason the tyres are comparatively slick when wet and don't wear or grip well when cold. I wouldn't commute on these tyres in a Michigan winter. The hard rubber will be prone to lose traction.

These tyres are not magic. Riding directly through goat-head puncture vine will result in punctures. There are no unicorns hiding inside the tyres. Run over a nail and it will go through. Glass, however, and steel wire fragments don't phase them at all. If the item the tyre rolls over would rather crush or crack than fight the rubber, it will be crushed rather than puncture.

The wire beads are stiff. They're difficult to mount the first time or two. Like most tires they seem to loosen up with wear. The foldable bead is more forgiving. If mounting ease is a major consideration it may be worth the extra money to get the kevlar bead instead of these. Comments about these tyres being prone to snake bite flats are ridiculous. There's nothing a manufacturer can do to prevent user error.
