    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Seattle Sports Dual Chamber Paddle Float is rated 2.3333 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flimsy Buckle Bought this self-rescue float to be stored on my latest sea kayak. (I have several boats.) Expected this to be an item that might save my life if I were to capsize in cold waters. Luckily I tested it in moderate temperatures during a leaders' workshop weekend. The very flimsy, light-weight buckle cracked in two places during my first solo re-entry drill. The float was now useless! I had to ask another kayaker for assistance to get me back into my kayak. I was disappointed, but glad that it happened with other paddlers around. I know that plastic buckles do break, but the buckle model installed on this float was just too light weight for the job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from qualified disagreement I have one of these so I went out to check it. Unless they've since changed, the buckle is perfectly ordinary, not flimsy at all. I agree the one fastener is essential to function, and I agree it could be stronger, but this is Seattle Sports, masters of cutting corners where it doesn't show. Those cheap unbranded fastex-style fasteners all break eventually but they make sense when quick, clumsy, sure attachment with gloved hands and obscured vision is necessary. The more robust versions I've used were more difficult to attach and detach, which is fine for frequent, prolonged, non-emergency applications. Considering the source, price and intended function, this is a reasonable, balanced design. I've used it a few times, seen it on other boats innumerable times; this is the first I've heard of anyone breaking the buckle. There are better floats on the market. They cost more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from An ok backup Agree with the others on this one. Have had this float for three seasons and has worked fine on practice and the few deep water reentries I've done without breakage. It has also survived on my deck of multiple boats without a puncture or other damage but it does have a cheap feel to it and Seattle sports is hit or mis so it makes a good backup. If your serious about deep water safety you should be looking into the foam style that are easier, faster and more durable anyway, but the compact size of the inflatables do make a good backup
