    • One inch represents approximately 2.5 to 5 miles and scale is 1:160,000 or 1:320,000 depending on the map accessed

      Comments about DeLorme Colorado Atlas and Gazetteer:

      I have both the delorme and the benchmark colorado map books. The Delorme is hard to use. It is hard to distinguish beween the various road types and it impossible to figure out what are the main routes in the back country. All are shown with the same line thikcness. The road lines themselves do not stand out very much from the back ground. Many passes are not shown. Benchmark maps fixes most of these problems.

      This book is a must-have staple if you live in Colorado. It's quite detailed with backcountry and forest roads. It's quick and easy to narrow down your locations via the page number grid on the back cover. I can use this map for quite a ways before I have to resort to my topo. I've had mine for around 2 years now and it's been to Hell and back, still intact with no tears.
