This is my third or fourth pair of these shoes and I mostly love them. They are comfortable and I wear them to work where I spend a lot of time standing in the lab. They are *the* best shoes for travel - slipping on and off easily at airport security checkpoints. My only criticism is that the soles could be made of a more durable compound as the outer sole wears through at the heel well before the uppers show any sign of deterioration - about a year of regular use.

I agree with most comments made regarding this shoe. I have bought probably 5 pairs of Jungle Mocs - the one with the more rugged soles. The waffle sole really doesn't provide much any traction in wet weather and is already thin after six months.
I hesitate to further recommend Merrell as I'm looking at other similar products.

Good shoe but if you hit any H2O on a tile floor you will be headed to the ground in an instant. Has happened several times even after the sole has been used/scuffed.

Incredibly comfortable. The sales guy was wearing a pair and raved about them. He raved wisely. These were great for my recent trip around the Pacific Northwest with one tiny exception. Do not wear these to clamber over wet rocks on a beach. Traction, they do not have a lot of in those conditions. Otherwise, these have fast become my favorite pair of shoes!

I'm writing this review because I'm online buying a second pair of these shoes. Best I've ever worn. I've worn the first pair almost exclusively for about 15 months. The soles have finally worn through the first layer of rubber, so I'm taking them to the cobbler - but first I need to order a second pair because I cannot stand to wear laced up shoes anymore. These make great office shoes because the leather cut looks professional from above and because I can slip them off my feet when I'm at my desk. Couldn't do that with laced up shoes, otherwise I might get caught shoeless if someone needed me. As far as concerns about them being too hot, I've worn them through a summer in Davis, California, which gets over 100 degrees outside, walking 3 miles to work in them, and they have never felt hot during the walk. I take them off as soon as I'm at my desk, so maybe that is the reason. Also, I always wear socks with these shoes. If you wore them barefoot like real mocs, as the name suggests, they might overheat.

Have owned 5 pairs of this shoe. They are the most comfortable shoes I've had in years, so I wear them constantly.
HOWEVER, the rate of sole wear is a real problem; on average the sole begins to show wear within 3 months, and is badly worn in 6. Can nothing be done about this?

I've owned this pair for 8 years now and worn mostly all the time. I'm now ordering my second pair now I don't get out much, but they are now worn and a bit slipery. very comfortable to wear right now they still look good but the soles are worn . ( carpet wear lol). but can become warm in the summer so I'm going to buy one pair of a lighter weight, and one of this style for winter use Take care and happy trails....
