Works fine for me

My background: I just graduated from UMass, where I raced bicycles during mountain and road season, and lived with two bike mechanics. This pump is good. We had this pump at the shop, and at our house. I haven't had any serious issues with presta or schrader valves. The pump is solid, has good heft to it, and expels more air per pump than cheaper pumps I've had. There's no such thing as a universally perfect pump, so I think people need to be realistic about it, learn to use the pump they have, and get on the bike. All pumps have parts that go over time, this one seems like it'll out last many other models. It's entirely reliable and at this price point, I'm happy with it.

Having used two other Topeak pumps that I returned (because of Valve problems) I decided to try the Joeblow because it came with dual valve adapters (presta and schraeder). I used this pump for less than 6 months. Today I blew my ride because the darned thing leaks. I even lost the 80lbs of pressure I had in my tire! I see other posts in here complaining about the same issue. I swear I will never buy a Topeak product again. I have decided to buy and own two pumps one for presta and one for schraeder...I am not connvinced using convertable valves or dual valves actually works. Plus I have the added benefit of never blowing my ride again because of a pump!

Nothing but positive things to say

With the REI return policy, I've tried several brands of bike pumps. Though the JoeBlow was slightly more expensive than other ones, I would have to say this was definitely worth it! I'm not an avid cycler but I do ride maybe once or twice a month to work and then recreationally on the weekends. I appreciate the fact that a lot of it is made of metal so it doesn't feel as flimsy as some of the other ones I've used in the past. The bike gauge is very conveniently located so you can see it while you are pumping. I would highly recommend this product though I'm sure there are better ones out there, this to me definitely hit a sweet spot.

Good pump

I bought the JoeBlow Sport about 4 months ago on sale at REI to replace a pump that was wearing out. This is much easier to use: attaches securely to my Presta valves, and easily inflates the tire to 100psi. It gets used about once per week on two bikes (4 tires). A little over a week ago the pump head broke: it leaked and deflated tires rather than inflate them. On Sunday I wrote to Topeak explaining the problem. Monday morning I received an email saying something inside the head was broken, and if I would send my address they would ship me a replacement. Tuesday I sent the address. The new head arrived on Thursday. I rate the pump as 4 stars, but customer service was so good it earned the 5th star.

Good while it lasted (which is not long)

I have always had good luck with Topeak products until this. A family member had one (still does and works fine) so I figured I would get one as it was a Topeak and theirs worked great. Well, it worked for slightly over two years until the metal in the head sheared in half. In the time I had it I know it inflated LESS than 100 tires and never more than 80 psi. I returned it to REI to see if it was under warranty (which apparently the Topeak warranty is only two years on pumps but the REI warranty helped) and replaced it with a Serfas. The clerk, who did not know I was returning one, told me that a lot of Topeak floor pumps get returned (even the nicer models) but very few Serfas.

We all live with a yellow bike pump

So this is a bike pump and it pumps up tires. It really isn't that complicated and for the price- it totally works. It's yellow which happens to be my favorite color which is also a positive. I have a smaller pump that fits onto my bike- but let's be honest- using that little guy just doesn't get a job done properly. To really inflate those tires- you need something like the Topeak JoeBlow Sport Floor Pump. It comes with a little gauge but I know next to nothing about the proper tire pressure- so I just use the old fashioned pinch method until both tires feel the same way. I'm not an avid biker- mostly to work and around the town- but this works well for my minor needs

Returning for good

I am returning this pump next week and mail-ordering a reliable one to pick up at my local store. After using this over the last year maybe 10 times, and just after it worked fine for one tire, the thing just started leaking. I don't have the time to diagnose the cause. I wound up using the micro to hand-pump our two hybrids' tires (schraders) to just enough pressure to allow us to do today's planned ride, a circuit on the Capital Crescent Trail. You know, I had a metal floor pump for 25 years. Worked great until age and humidity got to it. This thing couldn't make it through the year. Very disappointing.

Todson stands behind their products!

I purchased a Joe Blow Sport about 5 years ago and it worked very well until it started leaking air from the base. I contacted Ashley Sullivan in Topeak Customer Service at Todson Inc. and explained that my pump was at end-of-life but wanted to purchase a replacement part rather than send the whole thing to landfill. Ashley sent me a new base for a reasonable price, but the model had changed too much. After I told Ashley that the fix didn't work, she sent me a whole new pump! Gotta love this company!

Awkward head, hard-to-read gauge

I have an older Joe Blow pump with a universal head that works much better than this twin-head model. I returned this product promptly. This pump will not work on car tires because of the head design; there is insufficient clearance to clamp to the tire valve, at least with my wheel covers. For cycling use, the head does not work as well on Presta valves as the universal head. The low-mounted gauge has small markings that are hard to read without bending over. For me, a top-mounted gauge and hose works better not just for readability, but because the hose can reach the tires of a bike mounted higher on a wall.

cheap materials

aside from the well documented problems getting the head to seal, it worked ok for the short time it worked. topeak used a cheap plastic (not rubber) hose; it will quickly begin to crack where it bends, and will blow out not long after. todson, their support company, refuses to warranty the hose even though it is obviously a materials problem, and will offer to sell you a new one for about half the cost of the pump. don't do it - you can get 3/16" fuel line for about $2 at your local auto parts store which fits perfectly.
